Valhalla’s Shield theft deterrent/skid plates info and ordering post

Not applicable to my truck, but I saw a 6" lifted (chevy) truck a while back that had a separate skid plate for the subframe. Not sure that's a viable option for a Tundra, or if there would be too many variables to make it practical.

 

That isn’t the worst idea, I can make the base skid plate for the 4.5 and an option for a plate that bolts to it for the bigger lifts. The problem is I have seen some of the subframe lifts that protrude out that would get in the way of that

 

Good news and bad news about the Z brackets.

The bad, the plates bent correctly and the Z brackets bent correctly still have about a 1/4” of gap. For the remaining steel orders, I will be including washers with the orders to fill that gap.

The great news!
The square spacers are getting phased out. I have installed plates on 2 trucks today without spacers, both were 4x4 and neither were close to having contact with the transfer case. I did still remove the factory plate from the transfer case.

For the large aluminum batch that I am getting next week. I am going to have the Z brackets bent to no have the gap, but they will include the spacers. They will fit correctly. After this batch, the Z brackets will be cut with the extra length in them to fix this issue forever and delete the spacers

 

Well good news in my area. The local sheriffs dept. recently arrested numerous individuals for car thefts. These were not the result of catching them in the act but through investigations. I have no pity and serves them right.

 

Now that the spacers are not needed anymore. Can we still have the spacers included to use instead of washers until the plates come without that gap?

In the image are the Barnes4WD bolt head protectors that I purchased for my Cat Shields. I purchased the straight 1/2" bolt head protectors (SKU:B4WBHP08), however I no longer see them on the Barnes4WD site. They are still available on the Hired Gun Off-Road site, but either 1/2" bolt head protector should work fine. Tyler mentioned he had to go back to the 3/8" center bolts in a recent tread.

Update on Order #: R253007647 please. Another month has passed by since my last update. Moving into a new neighborhood and my truck is too big to fit in the garage and driveway so street parking it will have to be. Would really appreciate if I could get the plate this month.

 

I should have it Monday or Tuesday, it went to a different powder coater for the red

 

Just got them today and am putting them on the truck as we speak, thanks so much, they are great quality!

 

Someone just stole my Dad's cats on his 2005 Honda Accord in San Francisco last night. Called the cops to get a police report and they're no show. SMFH. The thieves left their battery powered sawzall under the car also.

 

Finally installed my plates. My Sequoia had no holes in the frame for the rear plate brackets. Guess I'll be drilling.

 

What is changing? (Without giving away any trade secrets, otherwise I can just wait). My Tundra will be here tomorrow and then 7 day test drive (Carvana) and then when I take full delivery I am ordering a set.

the little plastic pieces need to pop out for the sequoia, you may need to drill holes in the rear cat plate depending how it lines up, I need to measure for a sequoia so I can add another hole so the sequoias bolt up

 

Now that I know competition is watching this, I won’t say anything. I am adding strength and accessibility

 

Hi Can I get a update on Order: R851113587 | Date: 2021-06-25 , going on a cross country trip in mid Oct, hoping to get it done soon. Also, I might install a 3/1 lift on my tundra in the near future, will i need to buy the lifted version or could i mod it somehow? anyway your shield looks so cool keep up the good work!

 

It would have to be a foot longer to make it to the plastic cover on mine.

 

There should be another one that would place the Z bracket about in the middle of the rear plate

I'll be damned! I wasn't looking for a cover & it's damn close to the same color as the frame so even looking for it was hard to find.



The bolts are too short, don't make it out of the frame.

That is my fault, I should have sent you 5” long bolts. The measurement is about 4.5” from the rear of the plate for the correct hole

 

So, good news and bad news again!

Good news, the aluminum came in! Bad, it came later in the day than it was supposed too… it is going to get bent up ASAP.

but look at the quality of the cuts, sooooo clean

I am picking up 5 sets of 3/16 and 1/4 aluminum in the morning, there are some people who need them and I will shove them out! I also got 14 more 1/8 steel rear cat plates back from powder coat just now. I plan on packing them up until I gotta go pick up the aluminum tomorrow morning.

 

Hate to ask, but is mine among them? Got a trip this weekend, would love to take the Tundra!
