I’m actually having a couple of outdoor stickers made that reads, “Smile, your on camera”. This should rally mess with their head.

From a face of the business stand point, I won’t do it, but I appreciate the gesture, I encourage you to sticker bomb your plates however the customer feels

I just put the orders in for quoting for the remaining steel and aluminum orders to catch up to today!

Thank you everyone for dealing with my ridiculous lead times and problems. But after these orders go through, it will be business as usual and I can start designing for new stuff

a further deterrent would be to install one or more carriage bolts in positions which allow tightening of the nut by reaching around the edge/side of the plate.

Just got mine installed this weekend. Wasn’t really a bad job with the trd skid plate. Installed with screwd bolts. The bolts are a total pita to get a wrench on the nut to tighten but it can be done. But honestly the rear most cat is still completely accessible for stealing even with transfer case. And if they cut that one off the whole system is gonna need replaced anyway…

@Classy63 - - At a few points - maybe the Z-brackets, would it make sense to explore square holes instead of round, to appropriately accommodate carriage bolts?
The back half of the cat is accessible, and someone may just cut that to be spiteful; but the front of the cat is still pretty hard to access with the plate in place. w/o the front cut, their only possible prizes from the endeavor are lead and disappointment.

Looking again at your first pic - - looks like more than a strong maybe. I don't have a battery powered reciprocating saw to gauge how clumsy that would be.

Not trying to be a smartass, but did you try this after your truck was down off the ramps? I know that our trucks have enough room for people to crawl under, but just seeing what kind of awkward position they need to contort their body in order to accomplish this. I'm asking because I'm still awaiting the order of my plates.

I just feel like there could have been a bigger lip on the back or even better, another plate that sits on top of the rear plate and runs along the truck front to back between the transfer case and catalytic converter. That would really make it impossible to get to the front

In the end, these are meant as a deterrent, and they're excellent for that. They take an otherwise easy task and make it time consuming and difficult. If a thief wanted to do something time consuming and difficult, he'd get a job.;)

One of my customers tested the grit of my plates this weekend. Besides some scuffs and scratches, I think they did well

The weight of our trucks will outmatch any steel you can mount under it. So skids get dented and scratched when we ride on ‘em, but everything you want to protect, gets protected. :muscleflexing:

I have your front cat plate ready, but I don’t have the rear cat plate yet. We might need to figure out an address where you end up

Is there any other options? I don't have an address yet. I'm checking in on base when I get there. I still gotta figure out a reliable mailing address. I was really banking on getting it before September. Ill take a refund and take my chances without the cat shields.

    Hello there,
I am looking for alternatives of security plates for my tundra and I would like to know what options they have, price and how is the ordering process. Judging from the comments, it seems like the wait time is about 4 months, is that correct?
Also, I would like to know what advantage these plates have compared to those sold by the Toyota dealership.
    Thanks

If your place of work (building) receives deliveries from UPS or FEDEX, you can use that address as your shipping address. Just make sure to ask permission from the bosses if it is ok to do so. I had quite a bit of items shipped to our building (Air Force base)with no problems.

The dealerships don't have any plates that protect your catalytic converters. For regular skid plates, the only one the dealerships provide that is actually durable enough for off road use is the TRD Pro aluminum skid plate. You can get better coverage from aftermarket skid plates.

They have these cat plates as well for $365 uninstalled and $565 installed. The agent told me they got most of their vehicles cats stolen overnight and now they're installing them in all of their vehicles. He told me they sell it as is and but that I can find better options on the market.
