I’m sorry, I should have been more specific. I was asking about the front engine skid plate. I do not see a lifted option for this.

Hey Everyone, my mechanic just mounted my shield using everything Tyler sends but did it with just slight modification that all you with a stock Tundra might like. So you get four square spacers and mine only needed one to make the front plate flush. So my mechanic used two of the spacers in between the back mounts instead of a washer. He cut off the part of the spacer so the skid and mount were flush. There is also enough space that we did not remove the transfer factory guard. I also used three 4 inch long pieces of neoprene 1/4 inch thick tape between the plates. Cheers 88A7080B-638F-4811-A6F6-B48F72CB1AD6.jpgB02C4FEC-23E3-425B-9650-7358ABC76E8C.jpgCDC0705C-B529-4D31-BFD7-C2942B0E8674.jpg

So my most recent modification to the Z bracket also adds more room to clear the transfer case that may allow keeping the factory plate on there

All the aluminum orders up to August are at laser cut, I expect to have them back about September 10th, then you have about a week more for powder coat

As for the bolts, order the old style. They will ship with the order

Anyone have issues with noise from these skids after installing? I'm still waiting on mine, but I bought some rubber washers in anticipation. Someone mentioned that they used rubber stripping (on the back edge) on a different skid and it worked like a dream, so I figured I'd ask around.

Also, if I'm crazy for worrying about that, feel free to tell me that too.

I am preparing to put in another order to cover all orders to now that the 2 big batches haven’t covered. I am hoping I can have all the steel done within 2 weeks, aluminum will take a bit longer. I am at the plasma cutter now picking up a partial load of steel, I am VERY excited to start fulfilling orders.

Ya know, if y’all let Tyler spend as much time filling orders as he spends checking on the status of your individual order, everybody’s shit would go out faster.

I wish that were the case, but I do ignore messages and stuff while I am working. Today I picked up most of the steel order! I need to remove the stuff that won’t go to powder coat from the trailer and I will drop off everything else at powder coat. I think I have a bit over 100 plates on the trailer now, and there will be another 50 or so that should be done at plasma cut this weekend.

Installed my steel front plate. For anyone that's going to be installing this themselves and using the provided bolts make sure you have size 24 socket and/or wrench. That's the size of the front bolts, back is size 14. Also a jack to help you carry it up. On the 2nd picture where its circled if you hit it, it hits the cross member and rattle but took it around the block to test for any rattle and I didn't hear any even going over speed bumps. All 4 bolts are nice and tight so I think my plate just didn't come flat, a solution if you run into this is a double sided rubber pad. I didn't put one on mine yet. Sorry for the long post, overall very satisfied with plate and added some peace of mind.

The aluminum plate has a slight bow as well. Another reason why I put a rubber strip between the plates.

Could you correct the bow with some spaced lumber and carefully stepping on the high point to correct the contour?

After looking at mine again more closely, I think the slight contour is because I did use a rubber strip between the front and rear plates. The rubber is compressed at the bolts but the center is contoured by the thickness of the rubber strip.

    Another question for the group:

Has anyone coated them in bed liner? I ordered mine bare with that intention, but I will be keeping the TRD skid, so my only concern was that the bed liner spray would add too much space and make instalation more difficult.

    Thoughts, opinions, or reviews?

Won’t affect spacing. When you torque the fasteners, it’ll smash the bed liner flat. When you remove the plates, the portion that overlapped will look flat compared to the raised texture look of the other surfaces, with a clear line of demarcation. But once you use the truck off-road, the bottom surface of each skid will get scratches (or even dents, if you slide over rocks ;)), and a bunch of debris will find it’s way to hang out between the truck and the top of the skids, so it doesn’t really matter how you protect them, as long as you do.

I have GREAT NEWS!!!! I figured out why the rear plates aren’t fitting! It wasn’t the Z brackets, the bend on the rear cat plate was just alittle off but it was enough to cause an issue. I suggest all who have had this issue to space the plate to the Z bracket. Part of the steel will have rear cat plates that aren’t bent right, I will try to include extra washers for this, but for the rest of the steel and all of the aluminum going forward, will be bent correctly

What is the order date cutoff for this? I purchased mine on August 17th, order# R657905579 (no powder coat).

I'd rather wait on the modified skid, so that's why I ask.
