Yessir. The supplied washers that Tyler supplied worked perfectly with the tapered bolt protectors.

I only used two for the rear brace cross member. I have the TRD Pro skid plate, which is already tapered where the bolts are.

 

So, after a little back-and-forth, Barnes4WD says that part will fit the pent-head socket. Another member had found a different part left a bolt head susceptible to vice grips, so if anyone grabs these and can test, that would be great. @Classy63 for visibility - - not sure if this makes sense as a part to resell along with those bolts.

I have some of these waiting on my plate. I will let you know and post some pictures when I get done mounting. I did give them a coat of Rustoleum Satin Black because they are bare mild steel.

I picked up the load of 3/16 steel today, dropped most of it off at my bulk powder coater, the bare plates will be shipped tomorrow and the custom colored plates will be going to my other powder coater. I am supposed to pick up the 3/16 aluminum tomorrow. The quality of these in person is much better! No cut lines is such an upgrade!

 

I ordered 3 Barnes4WD washers due to the fact that was all they had when I ordered them. I have them now and waiting for my 3/16 aluminum plates ordered in May. When I get the plates and penta bolts I can double check the fit.

 

I have the security bolts Tyler offers coming with my plate as well, but am interested in the Barnes4WD washers to add even further determent, how many bolts are there for a front and rear plate set so I can order the correct amount?

 

For the front cat plate, there are 4 bolts that could benefit from the Barnes4WD washers. No additional washers are needed for the rear cat plate. (The front two bolts on the rear cat plate are the rear two bolts on the front cat plate so no additional washers needed. The rear bolts on the rear plate bolt to the bracket and there is no room for the Barnes4WD washers.)

I am not sure if anyone has verified yet that the Barnes4WD washers will work with the socket for the pentagon bolts. I am hoping someone will verify before I order some as well.

 

I have 4 washer coming tomorrow, will take measurement and post pictures to confirm

 

I just ordered 4 this morning. Maybe you could get the 4th one, but their shipping for 4 was $10, and if that's a flat rate it would be kinda pricey to get the last one. If your order hasn't shipped I'd call them to see if you could get the 4th before it gets out the door?

 

I ordeeed 4 and their shipping was $20. They are definitely profiting on their shipping.

 

For ease of explaining, I will call the aluminum version 2, and the steel version 2.5.

you can see the large difference not having cut lines!!! Also, the hole is bigger for a 1/2” bolt. The circle design changed in spacing (added strength and more venting over a larger area)

I am very pleased with how these came out! The cuts are SOOOOOOOOOO much cleaner!!! I guess this is the difference between an amateur who steals my designs and a pro.

I saw the picture of the no-cut lines earlier...but I think the cut lines adds some character.

 

Any update on the status of the 1/8" steel plates?

What about the load of 3/16 aluminum plates you were supposed to pick up from the cutter yesterday?

 

The Barnes 4WD washers Part #B4WBHP98 will work for the 3/8 bolts at the front and rear of the cat plates but the hole in this washer is for a 1/2-9/16 bolt diameter if you get the 3/8-7/16 washers the pentagon socket will not fit in the counterbore of the washer. Not even close. I am using the Barnes washers with regular 3/8 washers as well in the counterbore. The bore is deep enough so that the pentagon head does not protrude.
I will post pictures tomorrow when I mount the plate.

 

How tight is the fit for the pentagon socket in the Barnes 4WD 1/2-9/16" washer? Do you think there is room for paint/powder coat of the Barnes 4WD washer?

Plenty of room for paint or powder coat. I gave mine a coat of primer and 2 coats of rustoleum satin black
