    Too many, but not enough....
I got my cali raised sliders on today and I got them to fit perfectly with Tyler's plates. It took some doing though. If you want to get the 2nd frame clamp from the front on you gotta drill through the bracket. I used a cobalt step drill bit and made short work of it. Also, if you have the rci fuel skid like me, you will have to drill another hole which is tough because you have to line up the frame thread. This took me a while. I also took this opportunity to put more security bolts on the plate brackets. Thx again Tyler for a great product.

That works out great, and it increases the strength of the bracket too

Installed full Vahalla plate package in 1/8" powder coated steel today.
    • 3-piece front skid plate
    • Front catalytic converter protection plate/transmission skid plate
    • Rear catalytic converter protection plate/transfer skid plate
    Used the pentagon bolt set.

I will be posting the detailed install soon.

Yes, I know that a bolt is missing on the oil filter door and the bumper valance. Added both after the picture.

Took about 3.5 hours, but I was documenting as I went. Hardest part was the 3/4" bolts for the angle bracket. I thought I has a 1-1/8" socket, but I did not. This made it more difficult. I ended up using two washers between the angle bracket and rear plate on both sides. I may re-adjust this later as i think the bracket is not lined up the best. I picked up a 1-1/8" socket so should be able to do better.

Has anyone figured out if the Valhalla CAT shields fit with RCI sliders yet? I did a quick search and it looks like it hasn’t been yet, but I wanted to double check. If this is redundant and I missed it in my search, my bad.

I asked the same question and didn't get an answer. I didn't want to be the first one. I assumed between the RCI front skid and sliders, it wasn't going to work.

Thank you very much for the write-up. I ordered the full set of Valhalla plates with a skid plate as well. I went with 3/16 steel skid with 3/16 aluminum cat plates, and I ordered the pentagon bolt kit. I have some questions:
    1. What are your thoughts about the tapered washer bolt head protectors discussed earlier?
    https://www.rockhard4x4.com/product_p/rh-6000-sw-496.htm
    2. Are the bolts long enough to accommodate the tapered washers?
    3. Do you think they're necessary from a security standpoint?
    4. How about from a skid plate standpoint - would they help if you're 4wheelin?
    5. How many tapered washers are needed? looks like 8?

Thanks again. I appreciate your help.

Here are my 10 cents (2 cents per question)
    1. What are your thoughts about the tapered washer bolt head protectors discussed earlier? I like the idea, but I was anxious to get my plates installed so went without
    https://www.rockhard4x4.com/product_p/rh-6000-sw-496.htm
    2. Are the bolts long enough to accommodate the tapered washers? The bolts are all long enough to handle the tapered washers even if you were to leave the existing washers on, however, I believe you would want to leave them off in most cases
    3. Do you think they're necessary from a security standpoint? To be honest, I am not sure they are needed from a security standpoint because, with the lock nuts, the bolts were hard enough to tighten that I cannot imagine thieves taking the time
    4. How about from a skid plate standpoint - would they help if you're 4wheelin? I think this is where the biggest benefit would be. Would move from vertical bolt heads to the tapered washers. If you are really going to use for sliding on rocks, like your 3/16" steel can do, then I would use them
    5. How many tapered washers are needed? looks like 8? Yes, I would go with 8 of the 1/2 inch washers

Excellent! One last question: What's the outer diameter of the pentagon socket? Just want to be sure it fits in the 1.10 inch diameter recess. Thanks!

Looks like right at 1-1/8" outside diameter. (Tape measure, not calipers.)

I guess I lied - that's not my last question. Sounds like the pentagon socket probably won't fit in the tapered washer recess without either grinding down the socket 1.125" OD and/or enlarging the tapered washer 1.10" ID recess. Does the socket look beefy enough to grind down on the outside or is it fairly thin-walled?

Maybe it would be easier to take the tapered washers to a machine shop and have them open up the recess...

Or I could try these: https://www.barnes4wd.com/12-to-916-Bolt-Head-Protector_p_1306.html

Not sure how much I would want to trim the socket. As I stated, I did not use calipers to measure, and I am not sure how precise the measurements that they provide on the protection washer website are. I would contact them to get precise dimensions or buy one and check it out. They state that it is a 1/2" bolt hole, but I think they mean a hole for a 1/2" bolt which is larger than 1/2".

You fell victim to the BS of plasma cutter quitting…. It will be about 2 weeks.

IN OTHER NEWS!!!! I just emailed my plasma cutter to order almost 9000 pounds in metal to cover all my orders!!!! (except front skid plates, I haven’t redrawn that one yet) that means that as long as he stays on his 5-7 day turn around that I will be heavily overwhelmed with plates on a scale I have never seen. The relief for me is a very large chunk of that is going to powder coat. I figure that I will be 100% caught up on ALL ORDERS before the end of August. This will lead to a beautiful thing I have been trying to get back to since March, HAVING PLATES INSTOCK!!!!
I am picking up the next to last load from powder coat tomorrow, and dropping of the last little bits I need to send off to be 100% caught up with what I have here. I have 2 1/8 front skid plates and 1 3/16 front skid plate along with a bunch of 1/4” aluminum there.

I cannot express enough how much I appreciate y’all’s continued support while I continue to try to do more better even in the face of adversity… I am ALMOST THERE! I am planning on designing V3 very soon and releasing it, but I gotta find time for me and the guy helping me. Then the ability to expand to other vehicles will finally be attainable!

Dang. Well I’ve got RCI sliders on order. I’ll order a set of the Valhalla CAT plates once I get my sliders and test it out I guess.

Alright! I have worked my way through the rest of the plates I have. Being that the new plates will have bigger bolts, the old rear plates will not work with a newer front cat plate. I have a powder coated black rear cat plate in 1/4” aluminum that needs a good home with someone.

I have a few 3/16 steel pieces that will go and a few more front skid plates I need to knock out

Updated the write-up for my full-plate set install in my build thread here.

Corrections are minor and related to the bumper valance bolts on the front-engine plate.
