It is supposed to rain this week and cool off, I found this to be a great opportunity to strap the welding hood back on and knock out all 10 of these front skid plates

Oh boy, working as a police officer in South Central/Compton the last several years and I know a lot of residents who would love this. Converter theft is huge over here! Ill definitely recommend this to them forsure.

Can you please let me know what maintenance I should have done on my 2008 Sequoia before installing front and rear plates? What parts will be inaccessible after the plates are installed? Thanks for your help!

For anyone on the fence about getting bare and painting yourself. I'm currently painting 2 sets of plates (2 front and 2 rear) by rattle can. I thought this would be a decent cost savings. If I had to do it over I'd just buy the plates from Tyler powdercoated. These plates are big and its just a pain to paint lol

Just wanted to share my experience and help anyone debating the bare vs coated.

Yeah I just bought the bare plates, but I only did that so I could get it sooner and have a local powdercoater that can get them back to me in a day. I'd imagine it would be a total PITA to paint these yourself.

I did the same for the same reasoning. Not sure it makes a difference because Poor Tyler is overloaded with demand. Afraid to take the truck on vacation fearing the hotels parking lot.

Yeah Tyler already stated he doesn't make any money off of getting them powdercoated,so it's really just him being nice and offering that service at cost so I figured I'd take some workload off of him and I trust my local guy as he's already done my skid plate so I know he does a good job. I can't wait to get the plates in lol.

Wow really? Tyler, you should tack on some profit for getting powder coating done. It's very nice of you to not do that, but your time isn't free.

Stupid question: These fit 2021 Tundras correct? According to first post, they are for 07+ but I wanted to make sure before ordering the burliest steel versions known to mankind that would shatter rocks like glass and demoralize/reform cat thieves into doing honest work.

Anyways, stay safe out there folks. It's a crazier world every time I check.

I don’t want to price myself out of the market.

That being said, I would expect a $25 price hike on everything in the near future. Metal prices keep going up and up and up…

Today I ordered a set of the pentagon bolts for the plates. This looks like it will be a $40 option, I will test it out on a local install and if I like it, I will add it to the website.

to be clear, this is only replacing the bolts on the sides of the rear plate and the rear of the front plate as these are the most prone.

Will be interested to hear how it turns out. When you say the "sides of the rear plate" are these the bolts for the bracket to frame or plate to bracket, or both?

    Hey there Tyler,

First post here, but mainly made an account for ordering your shields, I just put the order in for a set of front and rear bare steal plates on your site, my paranoia has hit its limit about my truck after having kept hearing about people i know getting their cats stolen.

Thanks for this, I look forward to having your plates on my truck, your doing "the gods" work! :)

I am currently trying to get all this 1/4” aluminum out of my way. I should make it to June orders tomorrow for bare 1/4” aluminum. Maybe I will get close enough this weekend end to maybe start working on these damn front skid plates… I really need a bigger area and probably a full time employee…
