The front of Tyler’s plate. Rear of RCI engine skid. Seems like everyone is just sliding it in tight. Once it’s in there is no more room for your hand to fit in there. I can’t bring myself to do that. I won’t install stuff like this.

I was able to get to both of mine from the driver's side. Just depends on how big your arms are.

I’m under the truck now. I still can’t see a way. So in front (engine side) of cross member and back to the carriage bolts. I tried that and there’s no way for me. I’m 6’ 200. I don’t think I’m that fat. I respect the shit out of you for being able to tighten those.

@Classy63 Tyler, do you have instructions for installing your engine skid with your front cat plate? I don't see it on the website yet. I am hoping it is easier with your engine skid that the RCI or TRD engine skids.

It's not hard. It's just that some guys can't get their arms in there to tighten the nuts.

My front skid plate is designed to be easy. You are correct that it isn’t on the website, yet.

Tyler, good shit. Man that fit is tits. Too tits. Love it. Wish I could have gotten it to work. Just wanted to say I appreciate the innovation. I hope I didn’t come across as rude. If I did. My apologies. Your product does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

You should be able to stick your phone in there and see the bolt sticking through. Just making sure you're reaching in the right spot. :)

If you have room on the list I would like to be added too. I order both the front and rear skids. Like other commenters have said, please add some extra $ to cover the shipping costs.

Good to know. At least I have a plan now. I’m a thin guy and used to working on marine engines in tight spaces and upside down so I should be able to fit this.

I’m totally happy with that hack job. The gap in the pic was for your benefit. If you go back through this thread, I know it’s a lot, someone details how to get to that bolt to tighten it. 818CE850-FD3A-4FF2-8CBF-9F6BBC72AC76.jpg 818CE850-FD3A-4FF2-8CBF-9F6BBC72AC76.jpg C6406FA9-C0FB-4E9F-83D0-6CE61A1D0386.jpg It’s a bitch to get to.

It's easy to tighten the RCI plate and Valhalla plate if you use a open end ratcheting wrench. When I installed mine, I could reach both nuts from the passenger side and tighten then down with the ratchet wrench. You have to stretch to reach the nuts, but it can be done.

I don’t have the cat plates yet but went under the truck to see if I’ll be able to reach the rear RCI skid bolts. I also have the A-arm skids so my access is limited even more. However I was able to reach both bolts from the driver side between the lower a-arm and cross member with a ratchet box wrench. So putting on Tyler’s plate should be no problem with the RCI skid. I do have the diff drop spacers on the skid which drops the forward part down a bit so I do believe this provides a little extra room for my arm to fit through. For those of you having trouble reaching the bolts you may want to consider the diff drop spacers.

So with the RCI front skid, it could be a PIA. What about RCI sliders?

FYI, I checked with State Farm insurance. At this time they are not offering discounts for adding cat theft deterrents, though that could change. Doesn't change my decision to buy, but was hoping...

Is the group buy just for the Screwd security bolts or for the plates as well?

It's just for the security bolts.

@Classy63 does provide bolts to install the plates. The security bolts are just an extra layer of deterrent for potential theft of the cats from our trucks.
