I get it...the truck shown does not have the frame wedge bolts installed anywhere down the bottom of the slider. The frame wedge bolts help create the stiffness of the slider.

I did have some install issues for the slider on the driver's side but after contacting Cali-Raised, they were only giving me a pass on the last set (frame wedge and frame bolts) but said I needed the others installed for strength. I'm not an engineer but yield to them being the specialist.

Again, not a deal breaker but something I have to think about.

 

It is very hard to design around all the sliders... the truck in the picture does not use the clamps, you are correct. I have heard of customers cutting the bracket and welding it to the slider bracket

I placed an order for the 3/16" aluminum front and back cat protectors on April 5th. Still waiting on the call/email. I'm also local and will pick up plates on site.

 

@Classy63 - Whats the lead time for bare aluminum (either thickness) if we pick it up locally?

New powder coater knocked out a rush order on some plates for a group buy in San Antonio, I reallllllly like the work they do.

@Classy63 Not many can match your performance in the work and time you put in as a single person. Dedication and perseverance. Thank you for your hard work Tyler. Once I receive my 1/4" aluminum plates, I'm gonna add a bunch of bolts to them. Make the thieves think .

Got my plates installed today (got my truck back Friday after 2.5 mnths). Plates are freaking awesome +1 from me!

 

I really like the line x style coatings on the plates. Maybe I should get some quotes to see if this is economical

 

Have any one tired to mate the rear cat plate with DE front cat plate?

 

Yes, you’ll have to drill a couple holes on the rear side of the DE plate. I did it, not too difficult by any means.

 

I agree. It seems to me Line-X or raptor coating would be far more durable than the powder-coated option for the steel plate. Not going to lie, my powder-coated DE plate is already rusting and flaking after 6 months of use.

 

What would be approximate cost of the Line-X for the two plates? From Line-X of course.

 

Line-X is in to make money so it could be a little on the high side. It was $375 just to do my step bars and about the same for my flares.

 

Damn....I'll have to keep an eye on mine. I have 2 panels on my front bumper that are starting to rust and it has only been a few months. The rest of the bumper is Line-X'ed. Is Raptor liner the one that looks like Line-X and you can get in the can that is good for small stuff like that?

 

Yes, Raptor is a two part system you can buy online. The reviews I have read have been pretty good.
