Don't wait too long like @GrayWolf did and end up with stolen cats with your plates still in the packaging. I only installed the two cat shields with pentagon bolts and Rock Hard 4X4 Rock Domes. It took my wife and I about 45 minutes to put them on. It took that long because I included the time to take the tools out, put the truck on the ramps, install, and put everything away. I would even do it by droplight at night just to get them on.

YES . . . ITS FUNNY BECAUSE ITS TRUE !!!

I ended up getting the cat plates and the front skid plate. I am actually excited about it. Going to pressure wash the under carriage Friday night and go to town on it Saturday morning !

Holy shit, when I got home the rear plate was sitting there with "some" bubble wrap and no cardboard. A secondary delivery tag stuck on it. It's a wonder I got it at all. It's scratched a little bit nothing to get bound up over. The other three parcels we're wrapped like brick shit houses. Just stoked it made it to it's new home !

Really? That is amazing in a terrible way… I pack all the plates tightly, this actually irritates me…

I was surprised. The other 3 were packed very well. All I know is that they are here and I am ready to get going on them !

So I didn't find clarity on the TRD skid plates nut plate. Where exactly does it go and is it supposed to be aligned like this? Is this one off like some others were before?
Seems to be about a 1/2" off if it goes here. This is looking at the skid plate furthest away from front of vehicle towards the front with the nut plate sitting on top of one bolt and onto the other.

I see 2 things here. First, it looks like the nut plate is on top of the TRD bolts that come with the TRD plate. Second, once you remove the TRD bolts, you will see that it is about a 1” hole under there and it is pretty easy for the bolts to move around a bit.

Is that where the nut plate goes?
I haven't seen direction on doing with a PRO skid plate. Sorry:pout:

Ok. I wanted to check that first before I started install to make sure I had it all and was ready. So it should fit once I use the supplied bolts right?

I can't even imagine but...I'm thinking it was an inside job, or at least someone close to your place. The f***ers waited until after you got the cat plates so they wouldn't have to worry about having "theirs" stolen?? That's some low down dirty business right there.

I am very glad mine have been on for a few weeks now. Curious if anyone has experienced thieves trying to disassemble the shields enough to get at them whether successful or not?

IDK, but I'm considering sawing off some bolt heads and washers and just epoxying them to the perimeter of the plate.

    Actually.... found this:

    Got em on!
Dealer messed up my TRD skid plate rear bolts and collars when they were attempting to fix my creaking issue. So I fought more with that than anything. Install went fairly well. Even slapped an extra @ToyoMafia sticker on it ha.
The nuts on thr nut plate were tacked on slightly off from straight, so screwing it in was a bit difficult and was messing up the threads a bit. Nothing terrible, just a small issue. Still installed just fine.
    20220701_160321.jpg 20220701_160551.jpg 20220701_160807.jpg 20220701_151044.jpg 20220701_142836.jpg

Now I can unclench a bit when parking at places like work and hardware store.
    Thanks @Classy63 !

I just ordered a red skid plate and two bare aluminum 1/4 inch cat guards with 8 pentagon bolts. Tyler will hook me up with more bolts for the skid plate now I need to get the right sizes dome guards ordered. I looked at all the cat guards and even with longer lead times decided to buy from him.

Question about the front cat shield and the skid plate option... I don't have a TRD Pro skid plate, but I'm getting a BDS 4.5" installed next week (which includes a skid plate). which option should I select? upload_2022-7-2_21-41-20.jpg

I got mine installed today. Front skid plate and both cat plates. Only issue was the 3 factory plastic "nuts" for the trim piece from the front bumper were broken so I just used self tapping screws to attach it to the front / engine skid plate.
