I did 1/8 steel, powdered black. Granted, this was during his worst backlog time. He was great with the communication, and I did survive two San Antonio and two Dallas trip without the plates.
Though, I do sleep better now they are on....

Which reminds me, those who have the plates on for more than 3 months, time to tuck and roll under the truck and check the torque of those bolts, it is a moving truck after all, things may get loose.

I am sorry for the long delivery times. Today I finally got a massive amount of the plates I needed.

Mine is on a dealer’s lot in Dallas also. Only day 145 for me. No word from them on when I should expect it repaired.

I’m a little confused on the terminology here around Tyler’s components. Does V3 mean “2022+ Tundra”?

From my understanding, the V3 is going to be a bolt on to an existing rear plate.
It adds a lip up to help prevent access to the rear pipes for 2WD trucks.
I think the transfer case helps with that on the 4WD.
It is still in the planning and production stages..

@Tundra234 and @Classy63 could probably explain it better...

I skipped the domed washers. Thought I wanted them and then thought what happens when a nice rock pinches that shit on to the bolt head and I can’t hammer the socket on to it

What did you end up doing instead? I was considering going the dome route but I kinda wanted to see what other options were out there before dropping that kinda money on some domes

The V3 will add access to the diff and/or transfer case without removing the whole plate. Not sure if it is 4x4 only or not.

I'm not sure my rear plate is made yet.
He said he would ship it 2 days ago and hasn't shipped it yet.

Had an attempt at my Cats halted by a very brave lady walking her dog around a Houston hotel. The low life rat bastards did cut the exhausts on both sides in the front so this was a close call. Still around a $900 repair for the sensors and welding, and an extra night in Houston. Can't help but feel like there was an insider. Security footage had them pulling in at 7:04 am just as the overnight security pulled out. Got another Tundra and a Taco the day before.

I placed my order with Valhalla on 5/16 and I'm quite anxious to get this installed. I have a couple questions for the brain trust here and don't want to bother Tyler.

    I drive a 2WD 2017 Limited with no modifications.

    Questions

    1. Is ordering a front skid plate required, or just a good idea for additional security? I don't do anything off road except an occasional drive on the beach.

    2. Is the mounting hardware included or should I upgrade to the pentagon security bolts? If so which kit do I need? I do plan on getting some rock domes.

    3. Given the lead time for the shields is there any short term security solution? I was thinking a Cat Strap or something similar just for now.

    4. Anything else I should consider from folks with some experience with these?

    Thanks!

    My 2 cents:
    1. front skid plate not required for cat security. I added mine when an aluminum skid option was offered.
    2. hex mounting hardware is included. pentagon head is extra security. pentagon heads with rock domes is best.
    3. Cat Straps look good on the internet. I don't know anything else about them.
    4. I encourage folks to take the time while waiting for the Valhalla plates to do all the maintenance/upgrade projects under the truck (i realize some of these don't apply to your pickup):
      • change fluids in transfer case and differentials
      • add a transmission cooler if needed
      • add a tailgate lock kit
Sorry to hear about your cat attack. Sounds like you got off easy. Still infuriating.

Just pulled the trigger on the front skid, front cat plate and rear cat plate all in aluminum! Can't wait to get them bolted on. I am scared to park the Slurp in my driveway these days...kind of a sad statement. Thanks, Tyler - looks like a quality product!

I am shipping out as much 3/16 black powder coated aluminum as I can today to make room for 1/8 steel coming back from powder coat. Please don’t be discouraged if you feel skipped… I am just trying to get these plates out of my way to make room. I also shipped some orders this morning that have been long overdue

As for the 2022 plate. The 07-21 plate and the 22 plates are completely different. ALSO, hybrid and non hybrid will need different plates. I am trying to get both to come here as I want to make a design change at the front of the plate.

The security bolts is added peace of mind and well worth the cost. Good luck.

Well, maybe, I know he is overwhelmed.
I'm not sure if this is his main job or side business.
But either way, he had no way of knowing how fast it would take off.
He is at the mercy of products coming in, transporting them, getting them powder coated if ordered that way, packing them up, and taking them to FedEx.

I feel as far as cat shields go I feel he offers the best total protection and there is a lot of demand.

My impatience stems from my cats having already been stolen and I need my shields before I get my truck back.
I cannot park in my employer's parking lot for one day without some kind of protection.
I don't want to go thru this again.

When he gets the 2WD V3 into production I'm not going to harp on him for delivery.
If I have my truck back by then, I'll have the front and rear plates to deter any sh!thead that wants to steal my cats again..

I am talking about the whole deal without your truck. I would be rabid if I had to do without my truck for that long. I would have bought a full header system from Dirtydeeds by now and installed it without the cats and put them in after they came in. Of course I live in an area that they don't inspect for cats. They are legally required but I have never had anyone look for them. I have to admire your fortitude in waiting for the right result.

Oh, my only saving grave is Toyota is paying for my rental.
To look at the bright side of things, I'm getting 5 more MPGs in the Tacoma than I would in my Tundra.
Not a better time for that to happen...

Besides that, my insurance has already paid the dealership, I'll never do that again.
If a situation like this ever happens again, I'll have the insurance pay me, then I'll pay the dealer when the work is done.
I could have been getting 6¢ of monthly interest in my savings account on that $6K..:eek2::D
