I have the front and rear Valhalla cat plates. I want to order an engine skid and trying to decide between Valhalla, RCI, and TRD. Which one is easiest to do oil changes and I assume the Valhalla works best with the cat plates? Thanks for any recommendations.

    I opted for the Valhalla.
A few have mentioned how heavy the TRD plate is.
It works with the RCI, but their logo isn't as cool :) :) :)

From what I understand all 3 plates offer oil filter access cutouts/panels. The major difference between the Valhalla and the others is the Valhalla is a 3 piece plate which makes bolting the rear section of the engine skid and front cat plate to the cross member much easier. I think this is correct anyway.

Tyler is now making the bolt plate which helps resolve the difficult installation with the other two engine skids. I installed my cat plates with the RCI skid before I got the bolt plate and tightening those two bolts was…a real pain. I say go with Valhalla skid or at least the bolt plate…or both!

Update on R546451526? I assume it'll be a few weeks (not because it will or won't be, but because I know you get busy, and have had to take time off to take care of yourself). I'm just antsy. :D

Your plate is cut, but I haven’t gone to pick it up yet. I am hoping I feel better next week and I can weld it out and ship it asap

Does anyone have a picture of the red skid plate from the front of the car? I'm curious how much it stands out.

I have the TRD skid plate so just imagine that sweet red color where my gray is and you will def notice it (and that’s a good thing!) looking at the truck head on from a level position…F6899039-5E20-4A29-9F3D-23F0FFEE9F51.jpg

It will SCREAM at anyone looking. I mean, I want to achieve a very sleeper type of look with my super white, otherwise, I would say hell, red all the way. I believe if you reach out to @Classy63 via PM, you might get a quote for a custom color. Don't hold me to it, but I have seen super white, Tiffany Blue(?) and some others, and man, they are nice! But it is the underside, so you install and never see them again.

That's one of reason why I didn't get the power coat on my order, it is under the truck and not visible to anyone by me when I have to crawl back under there.

True. I powder coated mine for the sake of not rusting it. I mean, chances of me off-road in the next 5 years is not great, but I rather be ready than not. Also, rust is an issue on another car of mine, so I try and avoid it at all cost, regardless.

I can do custom colors, but it isn’t something I can put a price on with the website, the price varies

Yesterday I helped with an install and it was the first time I could install my new nut plate with the pro plate. That stupid retainer washer thing was the biggest pita but after that. Holy crap, what a difference, it was almost too easy

Tyler, when you have a chance, can you share all the custom colors you have done in the past?
I know some of them are in this 100+ page somewhere, would be nice to see them.

So, you can either try and back them off by hand or you can do what I did, take a set of pliers and hold the spacer putting pressure up, spin the bolt via impact and it should move it up alittle, repeat until you can stuff a wrench or something below the bolt head washer and just keep pressure on the washer and spin the bolt, it will take that sucker right off.

The one we did, both the spacers fell over and are now lost in the frame.

    Hi Tyler,
I just ordered some 1/8" shields on Jan 5 and am regretting not going with the 3/16" skids. Is there anyway I can still upgrade to 3/16"?

Are those spacers not required with your custom nutplate installation?
