    That's good to hear!
Anxiously awaiting the arrival of my cat plates and looking forward to adding the front skid plate when released!

I was messing with my plates today. I still think someone could get to the rear cats with a small enough saw if they wanted. I'll take pics tomorrow....maybe 8ts just me but hopefully the plates are enough of a deterrent.

So, this is what he is speaking of most likely. 2wd trucks will be more exposed than 4x4. That being said, you “could” get a very small sawzall in there, but you would probably have to cut the pipes out of the way to get the the cats.

At the end of the day, the name of the game is not just a deterrent, but to make stealing catalytic converters much much harder

that being said, if I were to close the rear area up for more protection, this would create more heat and make the plates much less universal to different exhausts.

Darn you're good. You hit it right on the head. Of course I don't know how many thieves would carry a small Sawzall. I see the square plates on the ground. Don't those go on top of the cross member before putting the washers on? I think some install them and some don't.

Those square spacers with the holes in the middle are for 4x4 trucks to space the plate off the transfer case, not needed for 2wd.
I don’t think like an engineer, I think practically and try to see the easy way a thief would look for.

Gotcha. The way I look at it, I have insurance, 2 plates, and security bolts enroute from Screwd. Hopefully they would see it and keep walking. Too bad I couldn't disable them with one of my "S&W triplets" as they walk away. :D

Yeah, short of sealing it all the way up I don't know you could do much more to deter a thief and make their attempt much more difficult.
99% of these jackasses will roll under the truck and see all those plates, and not see the converters easily while laying on their backs in the dark, and roll right back out and keep moving. I suppose if it was sitting in a dark lot away from any sort of civilization they may take a crack at cutting the tailpipes out of the way and reach in, or try to remove/cut through the plates, but that's pretty unlikely.

Oh it’s not just in the dark. One of my employees had a guy jack up his Prius and remove the cat in front of his house, on camera, at 10:30am. I had a guy jacking away at one of mine at 1pm during lunch break.

Never underestimate the power of bad decision making, and meth, don’t forget the meth.

Installed mine last night. Went smoothly enough, but I would have been in real trouble without my girlfriend to get her hand up there for the long bolts. No way my big ham fists were going to get up there to provide support and so you can turn the nut.

You really need a complete toolkit for this - ratcheting wrenches help, especially on the big bolts for the rear plate. There is not a lot of room available. I ended up jamming a screwdriver underneath the small bolts on the mounting tabs in order to get them to tighten. There wasn't enough room for a wrench or a ratchet back there.

I stacked the rear plate ontop of the mid plate, in order to give the t-case a little more room. I don't think I could have installed the plate with the t-case "skid plate" still attached. After removing the t-case factory plate and installing the valhalla plates, there is maybe a MM of clearance between the two. Is that why there are "spacers" in the box?

So, here is what I will tell you, 1/8 steel is $350 and 3/16 is $400 for powder coated black and LOCAL pick up.
