Valentine One radar detector, how to remove overhead console, need switched power

I have a 14 Crewmax SR5, wanted to remove the overhead console so I could grab some power lines for my radar detector. Anyone know how to remove it without killing it? I think it's a base overhead, map lights and sunglass holder with a map or parking coupon tab.

Or if you know where I can grab a switched ignition feed that won't screw with the trucks systems that's even better! I do not want to use those fuse tap thingies, yuck! I have spent plenty of time removing those things Thanks!

 

Tap into the back of the mirror. You can use a telephone wire with some computer pins on the end to tap or buy a ready built blend mount wire. Blue for power and black for ground if I remember correctly. Check my build thread to be sure lol.

 

I've got a 10+ year old Valentine One and I love it! Saves my butt DAILY! Hard wired it to my dome assembly so no hanging cords. I've got a 2017 however, not sure how much help I can be...

 

I have a non powered mirror, good ol manualflip knob...

 

Use an add a fuse with the interior fuse box. There are a few empty slots to choose from for accesory power. Then remove the A pillar cover to run the wire.
