i've got the recons, not spyders, but they are basically the same. cutoff and output is great. way better than the halogen bulbs that were in there originally.

Yes, they come with the HID bulbs.

I've never had a set of projectors before, so I can't compare them to anything high end, but the cutoff is much better than anything in a regular reflector housing. I'm impressed with how wide the beam is on this set up. It does a much better job of lighting up the sides of the road. That's really helpful for rural areas with deer hopping out all over the place. The wiring harnesses were kind of crappy on both the Spyders and the HID kit, but what do you expect at this price level?

Tested out the ditch lights last night, and I was very happy with them. They put out almost as much light as my cheap 42" light bar (just with less distance). The "side shooter" lights didn't do too much, but they are noticeable. Quality of the Cali Raised lights is very good. I'd put them on par with Rigid or Black Oak lights. Came with a decent harness and Deutsch connectors, so they're easy to remove if I want to. Great buy for $105, or $80 if you but them with the brackets.

That’d be nice where I am, the deer and antelope have a habit of running across the road at night down here. Always happy when a company uses Deutsch connectors, takes me back to my first job out of college installing GPS guidance in tractors. Had very few issues with them.

If it is not too much trouble, I'd love to see a pic of the headlights projecting on a wall to see the cutoff.

Cutoff on mine is a little uneven but I don’t drive with a wall in front of me very often so it doesn’t really affect me any :D

Is there a sound difference? I’ve been wanting to do the same but I take a lot of naps with the truck running. Im wonder if the CO2 would help me sleep better if it dumps right under me

Those sit higher than my SDHQ mounts it looks like, which might assist with the glare

You're right. It's something we like to call snow out here in Utah. You guys ever get any up in Alma?

Yes, CO is great for insomnia. Works twice as fast if you fab up a way to pipe it directly into cab. As for sound, it's a little bit louder. Maybe more of a hum at low RPMs. Didn't seem to change much on the highway. I think the STT Pros out-hum the exhaust.

They call them lo-profile, but they don't seem all that low. The brackets they make for the Tacoma and 4runner sit lower for some reason, and I think the mounting bolts on those models are completely off the hood. Could also be the bracket on the light itself. My Rigid brackets seem to sit lower. I didn't notice any hood glare with them the other night. They are pretty damn bright.

    Ohhhhh....snow! I get it now

Yeah, I like to take long psychedelic naps while driving. I think the “exhaust to enter cab” mod sounds like my weekend project

You might be able to reposition the Ridgid bracket to sit lower, otherwise the glare will probably be reduced at that height

Haha, that one might deserve its own post. Everyone should get on the "exhaust to end cab" mod bandwagon.

@UTTundra what you want to do is flip that bracket around. If I remember correctly the hooks will face towards the rear of the truck. They sit a lot lower without buying new brackets and you still get some decent adjustment.

I think Lou is talking about the actual ditch brackets and not the pod mounts.

But here’s a pic of what @dcsleeper408 and @Almaboy (Mork & Mindy) are talking about.

I had to leave....I had to go pick a Rolex for a client in Salt Lake. I will be back in the next couple of weeks or so. Ill let you know. I stayed at the Marriot, I was going to say, “hello” to your girlfriend but she wasn’t working when I left.

I got word that there was a pretty snazzy black Tundra parked at the Marriott yesterday.

    Uintah County off road. Remote.

For anyone considering STT Pros, I have had mine for about 4 months now, and they have more than earned their keep on muddy roads. My old KO2's would have been sliding all over the place.

Out with the old, in with the new. Replaced rusty JBA upper ball joints with new Cerakoted ball joints.

Wheel wells were looking pretty beat up. I hit them with some Rustoleum undercoating. We'll see how it holds up after the next car wash.

Deep in country today. The trout were bitin’, the beer was cold, and the STT Pros could not be stopped.
