I didn't. It's just like everywhere, there are good employees and bad ones. We had a great letter carrier when we moved here, now we have one that is rude and lazy.

No issues with USPS here. Quite the opposite. I had a package that was supposed to be delivered to me last Monday. My regular mailman worked last Sunday and to my surprise he delivered my package a day early. He had several packages he was delivering early that day. Said he is getting plenty of OT and they hired enough temps for the holiday season.

It's all a chit show wrapped in a cluster-phuk, surrounded my a monkey-poke right now. I could test the word limit of this reply box with my experiences the past 6 months.

On the actual delivery side it's been a mixed bag. FedEx is doing their normal "almost good enough" stuff. UPS is by far the worst, USPS isn't winning any awards either and let's not forget to mention all the independent shippers for Amazon. Honestly, my letter carriers from the USPS are both awesome. Not sure why they need to make two separate trips to my house on a Sunday, but they're just the "final" mile of what I am sure is a giant CF of government-efficient logistics. Hell, I've called my local post office six times the past week and no one will even answer the phone.

Most of what we order is from Amazon and their S&H has completely come off the rails. Not really sure where the blame switches from Amazon to the delivery service if Amazon promised me next-day delivery and then made delivery service fulfill an impossible promise. I've been ranting for months about delivery times. I honestly don't care if it takes a week to reach me, just tell me that. I'm guessing 90%+ of my orders the past 6 months haven't been delivered as promised. Next-day takes a week, something promised 3-4 days arrives next day. Those "will take 2-3 weeks to deliver"? Yeah, two orders like that showed up within 72 hours. My personal favorites are when I pick a specific day during the week for delivery and then Amazon reschedules it to a weekend when I'm out of town.

Okay, thanks for the therapy...that rant felt good.

When one is sent into any large operation that has been a clusterfuck for decades, things are naturally going to be a mess as one tries to change the parochial attitudes and improve on screwed up procedures.

My son is a carrier. As is usually the case, the problems lie within management and the union, mostly in the distribution centers.

My 2 day expedited shipping took 12 business days. Went from Missouri to Washington State to Minnesota.

Explain that? Luckily the retailer refunded me my shipping cost.

Yup all sorts of issues, I get it this year has been tough, this christmas season is the busiest for online orders ever, huge increase in shipping, I get it. Yet I have seen packages get to my local post office, only to leave for a week or two week long trip round the state, that after returning to the local post office several times, yet shipping out again.

We have this discussion on another board where there is a usps fan boy, worked for them for years, yadda yadda, of course the usps can do no wrong and never does, its all our fault for expecting a service that we paid for to actually be fullfilled, wtf?

Ya the usps for the most part is a over bloated shadow of what it once was. Scrap it, privatize it, fix it, make it better.

I do admit when they are good they are good but thats not often, I did actually get a Amazon prime delivery on time last week tho, was pretty floored it happened LOL.

That’s weird how it can vary from location to location. Amazon’s has been flawless for me. Must be because I’m close to a distribution center but I try to only order “shopped by Amazon” items and they are always at my door within 2 days.,the only items to take longer are other vendor items.

I guess I'll be the first to defend them. Because of COVID, online shopping is at all time highs. They are seeing more volume than they ever have. And not just for a few days or weeks. Then they had to process the millions and millions of mail in ballots.

On top of that, their financial situation isn't good. People assume they are federally funded. With the exception of the last stimulus package, taxpayers don't fund the USPS.

I'm going to cut them some slack for now.

Until you’ve been knee deep in it, you have no clue. We’re doing our best with limited manpower and resources due to Covid. The facilities can only handle so much volume before the pandemic....Calm down, your stuff will get there soon. And most post offices aren’t built to handle the large packages that Amazon is shipping thru them now.

Caught FedEx in a lie yesterday. I was tracking a package yesterday. Everyone was home all day. I was outside most of the time. I got an alert on my phone that the package couldn't be delivered because no one answered the door at 9:44 am. Bullshit. I quick checked our security system and no FedEx truck in sight all morning. More importantly no FeEx driver went to our front door or side door. I called FedEx to verify if address was correct. It was. I was told no one was home. I told them we were home and no FedEx truck ever drove up and no FedEx driver came to our door. Nothing left on door to indicate delivery attempt was made. Package now delayed to Wednesday. No reasonable excuse was offered. Bullshit.

I've been experiencing problems with FedEx this year. I ordered side steps from Running Board Warehouse. They were picked up at the GoRhino warehouse in TX, then immediately dropped off of tracking. After a two week search, then finally gave up looking and Running Board Warehouse sent a second set. It took about a month all told. Calls by me to FedEx fell on deaf ears. They didn't want to hear from me and offered no explanation. I'm less than impressed.

Had a package with Fed-Ex said out for delivery for 4 weeks. Said they tried to deliver it 4 times, I am working from home, and have ring doorbell and camara on driveway. Nothing. Filed an insurance claim for it and it finally showed up a week later. Have another package from USPS that has been sitting 20 miles from my house for almost a week.

Should be Dallas Texas but there was some rain and wind lately in that area. It then goes from Dallas to my local post office. A total trip from Coppell to my house is less than 30 miles. I can't explain it...

I had a package sent to me USPS. It was scheduled to arrive on 12/10. Tracking indicated that it spent a week in WV for some reason. On 12/19 I checked tracking and it indicated that delivery was attempted but no one was home Saturday morning. We were all home. I suppose the carrier didn't want to drive up my driveway. I did not get a card in the mailbox but tracking indicates that I have to pick it up at the post office. Tracking was updated at 11:15, the post office closes at 11:00 on Saturday. Fortunately I am retired and can get to the post office in Monday when they are open. When I was working this would be a problem. At least I'll have it in time for Christmas.

Dang, I thought that I was the only one who had problems with FedEx and USPS :), yeah no kidding I have plenty of horror stories, but what is my option?

UPS seems to work reliably for me, but not everybody can or will use them.

    Drone delivery, next.
