Is there a device that can output a higher amperage to fast charge samsung adaptive charging protocol and also connect the head unit for androir auto out there. The stock android auto unit has very low amperage and when on mobile data for maps, and screen on, the charging does nothing.

    1 or 2... I lost count
I don't know if either of these are good solutions but here is what I could come up with with a quick think to myself.
Cable to plug into 2 ports for more power: https://www.amazon.com/HIGHROCK-Enh...ocphy=9033605&hvtargid=pla-761647499952&psc=1
Or you can cut the factory power to the USB and splice in a higher power transformer while leaving the data alone: https://www.amazon.com/Converter-DROK-Voltage-Regulator-Waterproof/dp/B07P663XJV

These are both just products that I found with a quick search so I'm sure you could find a higher quality one of either.

Check the build link in my signature.
I think @RobertD is likely on the right track. The OEM port is what it is, so you’ll not be able to get AA and higher charging output from it. What I don’t know is if the phone will wirelessly charge while also plugged in to a data cable. :notsure:
The dual power USB unit linked after it probably won’t pass data through correctly, and also may not meet the Samsung fast charge specs anyway. Using the hard-wired USB power converter would certainly not pass data, so that won’t work for AA.

You know, I've never thought about this before... so i just plugged my phone in to charge via a cable and then placed it on my wireless charger. The wireless charger illuminated but I'm not sure if both forms of charging were working together. I'm now curious if you could wireless charge and use a data cord simultaneously :goingcrazy:

Yes thanks for the ideas. The other option is to get the wireless port adapter to connect via bluetooth to the stock head unit and charge via higher powered USB. This seems that most likely solution for now, but surprised no one has come up with something to plug in, since this must be on many toyota vehicles in the world.

As a part time programmer I appreciate this thread. A headunit that relies solely on software updates from an operating system, (Android), is a wait for a failure scenerio. The only matter is when it will happen. IMO no doubt sooner than later.

Just an update, I bought one of these splitters, and now I have android auto and fast charge on my note 20 Samsung. It is a circuit board that uses a fast charge connection, i use a cigarette lighter connection with PD output, and connect the truck USB to stock headunit connection, and then a cable from phone to the little device. Needs good quality cable, which the invemtor also suggests some brands to use.
