There is a very detailed write up of this over at tundratalk.net. I believe the username is robots (or similar), search by topic it’ll come up.

(I suggest after you get your info from there to never go back!)

So I offer a power folding mirror kit for both the 3rd Gen Tacoma and the 5th Gen 4Runner. I’d love to get something going for the 3rd Gen Tundras.

Here is my thread for the Tacoma’s.

New 3rd Gen Tacoma Power Folding Mirrors - Pre Order Now!

I should actually have my order in stock any day for the Tacoma’s. My 4Runners are already in Stock. If anyone is interested in sending me pics of their mirrors or inside of their mirrors so I can see the connection plate and the Actuators that’s all I need to see to convert the kit for your mirrors. Then I can make the kit for your trucks. I’d love to make a kit happen and start selling these on here for you guys!!!! They are awesome. You would even have an OEM Folding Switch to replace yours.

Id be in too, I would pay for the extra hand holding of a proper "kit". The mod is pretty involved when you follow the threads of the guys who have done it. Not particularly difficult, but just a bunch of small steps that have to be done properly. plus obtaining all the right little parts, like pins connectors ect

Totally understand. I took awhile tackling this for my own mirrors on my Tacoma and made our kit basically a plug and play kit 100% other than 1 wire which I was unable to do. I would be able to make it Plug-N-Play in the Future if I really think about which plug I can make the last wire but I just don’t know.

With the Tundras, I’d need a look at where your Switch is located, which I think I’ve seen before, I just need to recall again. I also would need to know where the following wires can be located by your switch: 12V+ Constant, Ground, Lock, Unlock, ACC.

Oh 100%. It definitely is. There are a lot of people the knock it but they have absolutely no idea what it takes and the time it goes into making these kits. There are so many small details.

Well let’s get this going people. I’m excited. Well first things first. I’d like to get some pictures first. My vendor is actually sending all Toyota Connection Plates in my current order. Once I receive them, I will match them up to yours, and place an order. I will make a interest list thread and see how many people will be interested in ordering.

I really think this would be something big for this forum just like it has been for the Tacoma’s. 4Runners are just starting to get going.

That’s the plan. I’m going to start with the lock first and then I will go to the opener.

I completed this mod with some aftermarket mirrors. From what I can tell you are installing the motors and such inside the oem mirrors converting them to power fold? If so I'm down to do that and what do you need? I actually lost BSM because the pins on the aftermarket mirrors are different that the truck and I've been to lazy to trace the correct wire. I'd love to get that feature back.

I just need a picture of what your OEM Mirror’s Connection Plate looks like and your OEM Actuator that attaches to your Connection Plate right now on the inside; as well as your hinge that mounts to your Door. I need a look at the bottom of it. Like do you have three holes already like the 4Runner OEM Hinges or no like the Tacoma OEM Hinges. I haven’t taken a complete look at this thread yet so there are probably pics on here too. However, that would be a start.

It is totally possible to get those features back once I am able to match these parts up
