I have the rear 2.0s without resi and have been happy with them. But I also read the 2.0 were not as good as a 2.5" diam. shock. I have also read that adjusting them height while on the truck is damn near impossible so I went a different route.

Hey I’m gonna be purchasing fox shocks for my 2020 Tundra CM 4x4 I will be towing a 5000lbs travel trailer should I bump up rears to resis in the rear? Any input is appreciated.

I read the same thing. Believe me. I was significantly torn.

so what I did. I bought the shocks from 4WP. They are on a severe back order for the resi rears with adjusters. And I read about the adjusters. They only adjust slow speed, so wobbling of the bed back and fourth basically. Basically slow movement on the shocks. Well when you’re towing with weight you don’t have much slow movement to the rear shocks. Only fast movements from bumps.
So since the back order for 3 months on the adjustable reservoirs, I went with the straight reservoirs on the rear.
So I got 2.0 fronts and 2.0 rears with reservoirs. 4WP has a brick and mortar shop about an hour away. So they included a 5 year no questions asked warranty on all 4 FOX shocks, install, and an alignment. I’m going to have them install with a 1 inch lift in the front so when I’m pulling my camper I won’t be bulldogging the front with all that sag. He’s suggesting installing bags in the rears but I don’t think they’re needed. I also think a 2 inch lift in the front is too much to even level it. I think the front will be too high with a 2 inch lift.

bilsteins are awesome. They have amazing reviews but to have the chance of getting all new fox shocks in 5 years with the no hassle warranty is too good to give up.

One more thing. They’re suggesting putting them in out of the box but I don’t want a leveled truck because when I tow, the front of my truck will sit high. With 75% of braking and 100% of steering coming from the front I don’t want to mess with the front sitting high.

FOX said to decrease them 1/2 inch from the box which would increase the front only 1 inch when installed. Do you think I would be bulldogging it when I tow a camper with a 1 inch lift in the front? Or should I ask them to crank them down to stock height.

I’m looking at same thing. I will be getting a travel trailer. You might want to look at a WDH they can be pricey the one I bought is $500 it’s rated to handle up to 800lbs of tongue weight w/sway control. Air bags just remove sag. WDH puts trailer weight across both axles so you don’t have sag. I’ll show you a pic with my in-laws WDH pulling my in laws TT.

What size trailer are we talking here? If it’s like a 4000 pound lightweight then hook it up and go

if it’s closer to 7 or 8 then I’d rethink it

Oh well it’s sitting at around 4000 but tongue weight is around 450. Book states 500lb max tongue weight without WDH so I have one regardless. Also helps with sway control. I wouldn’t tow without one, even a 4K trailer. And even with a WDH, the back can still sag. Neighbor has a tundra (he’s actually buying my like new shocks and springs on my tundra) and his sits about level with stock rake and no front lift.

Maybe I’m overthinking too much, I’ll prob just ask them to not level it out if the box and only give me a 1 inch lift in the front.

PS. Pretty sure I don’t need it but I’m switching to 2.5s in the front without resi. I’d rather pay $400 now then to pay for a new set of 2.5s in the future

Does your in laws have a leveling kit? Or is there suspension stock.

I think you’re going to be fine with the 2.0 series. They may be small for someone pounding the dirt, but it sounds like you will be getting a significant upgrade over stock for your needs

I thought the Fox TRD Pro had a 2.5" body?

are you saying that the Falcons ride is comparable to the TRD Pro Fox shocks? Interesting. I guess that would make sense as they are both riding on Toyota spec springs...

This comment confuses me. TRD Pro 2.5" coil-overs in front and made by Fox (Yes, maybe they're spec'ed by Toyota). Assume the Falcon kit has to use the Toyota factory springs, which should be a completely different spring than what's used on the TRD coil-over?

It’s my truck his trailer. My suspension as of now is stock. I just placed order for 2.0 Coilovers for front and 2.0 ifp w/resi for rear. I’m not hard on truck. I just want a couple inches of clearance for like a 33 or 34 inch tire that will allow me to go exploring with my wife and dogs while maintaining a good ride on street.

Try resetting your battery. Unplug it for 15 min. Is your nose higher than the back now?

It looked level to me when I saw them drive it around. I haven’t measured it per se.

They said they were going to reset it. Haven’t heard the results of that and they’re offering to pay for Toyota to look at it. I guess I’m going to the dealer if they can’t fix it.

They are putting 2.0 Coilovers in front and 2.0 IFP with resi in rear on 2/6.

There are sensors in the tundra that can get out of whack when the nose is lifted. Yours is new, if you have the Toyota safety sense look up what guys do with that. There are people who claim the sensors/trac control/abs works best when the front is lower than the rear

I don’t think it’s those sensors. It’s telling me traction control, e brake, the whole dash is lit up. I think they cut a wire on install. In Toyota service Tuesday.

fox 2.0 front and rear. I will probably have them shorten the front end to stock height.

Well I’m home. Will keep you all informed. They gave me a truck rental. Dodge Ram. 2021. What a POS compared to the tundra lol

I’ve read that some people have had problems with the sensor and some didn’t with a level. I’m just going to have them put my truck at stock height.

I’m nervous now about getting my lift... if I don’t do it I will save myself $2,100. Has anyone else had issues with that?

Lol you are having buyers remorse and you haven’t bought anything yet

we all over analyze most of this stuff. For the most part the suspension kits are going to be very similar because they’re all designed to be oem swap ins with no cutting

If money isn’t an issue I’d put the pro shocks on. They are specifically tuned for the Tundra. But that’s just me.
