Hi new to the forum. Interested in input from the members on rear bumper options for a 1st Gen 2005 Double Cab. I am wanting some plate steel protection that doesn't necessarily have a full time swing arm scenario. It is a daily and I just thrashed my OEM. I am trying to get away from OEM chrome but it hurts to see getting an OEM prime ready'd bumper and paint to be in the same price point as a DIY 4x4 labs. I have never welded. Thanks everyone and stoked to see what all you cats are getting into.

    Cheers,
    Jensen

The Sticky thread section is full of useful tidbits.

    Here's one: https://www.tundras.com/threads/1st-gen-tundra-armor-thread.50877/

    Here's another: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

    Here's a third: https://www.tundras.com/threads/definitive-2000-2006-cab-area-rain-water-leak-thread.70464/

Latter two don't deal with your specific topic but cover most of the damage-y type stuff that everyone needs to address in these trucks. Maybe find a solution to the bumper dilemma there.

    Welcome to the forum.

Bumper support seems almost nonexistent for these trucks.
