1st gen tundras> 2nd gen. Change my mind.

 

Not sure how that's an unpopular opinion. That's a simple fact and everyone agrees. Anyone who doesn't agree is wrong and probably believes the Earth is flat too.

I had one and agree, but... i wanted stability/traction control, more airbags, and more power is nice with the same fuel economy.

The only form in which tomatoes are acceptable is ketchup or spaghetti sauce.

 

Growing up in the south we always had, fresh from the garden, fried green tomatoes, and fresh tomato sandwiches. You never know till you try. Store bought tomatoes dont make the cut.

 

I've tried them fresh from the garden too. They actually grow pretty well in south western BC where I grew up. I remain steadfast in my opinion; ketchup and spaghetti sauce only.

 

That right there is a popular opinion 'round these parts.

 

I'm dying to grow another garden but I travel most of the year for work. I'd kill for some fried green tomatoes right now.

 

Salsa and pizza sauce?

 

Negative on the salsa. Pizza sauce is basically a mild variation of spaghetti sauce, or at least in the same sauce family. Therefore it is acceptable.

 

Ketchup is just Canadian Salsa.

My Italian mother in law would slap you upside the head for that comment.

Pasta or spaghetti sauce is cooked. Pizza sauce is traditionally raw tomatoes. Very different.

 

Salsa is just Mexican ketchup.

 

I would argue that when you cook the pizza, the sauce also cooks.

 

You’re right. Not in your opinion about tomato sauce, but that it’s unpopular.

 

That begs the question, how are sauces classified? Are they classed based on preparation method, in which case you're correct, or are they classed based on their state at the time of consumption in which case I am vindicated.

Either way, I shall amend my unpopular opinion so as not to anger any Italian mother-in-laws, who I must admit terrify me. Tomatoes are are acceptable only as ketchup, pasta sauce and pizza sauce.

This reminds me of the classic “is a hotdog a sandwich” debate of 2012. Tacos and wraps were brought in. Although unsettled still today, a truce was achieved with the Sandwich Alignment Chart:

 

They're legit trying to catfish someone on a whole new level.

 

Oh, now you done it. Is a hot dog a sandwich? Legally, no. Morally, yes.

That said, I like that picture. It's a great summation.

 

My rule: If you put ketchup on it, it's not a sandwich.

 

I've been known to stick a slab of roast beef between two pieces of rye with ketchup. I'd consider that a sandwich.
