If you guys recall a couple weeks ago I was inquiring about a spanner wrench for these coilovers, this is why, by the way - started to see a lean that just kept getting worse.

@ColoradoTJ do you mean when you buy Kings online they come empty and you have to charge them before mounting them ? I'm talking oem type Kings.

Not all king shocks need to be filled with N2 after you get them to your doorstep.

This is only for packaging reasons. I'm not sure if everyone has seen a 14", 2.5 RR shock outside of a vehicle. They are flippen huge. Bottom spring is 16"/ top spring is 14".

The box comes with the shocks compressed, 2 shocks, 4 springs in a rather impressive package.

These are 2 of mine, and that is a true 40" tire.

And a BJ from a Raiders cheerleader once a week for a year. Lol

All honesty though, it isn't cheap to build a rock buggy.

    New parts:

    AW4 swap, 2000.00
    Atlas TC 2400.00
    1 ton axles 10,000.00
    14" kings 2600.00
    Bumps & limit stamps 1200.00
    Roll cage 2000.00+
    Wheels and tires 3800.00
    Custom seats and 5 p harness 2500.00
    Custom fab body armor/work 7000.00
    4 links and design 2000.00
    Driveshafts 1000.00
Cost of vehicle stock 14,000.00 (he paid a few thousand more than I did for mine)
Off the top of my head, that is 51500.00 in parts alone (or a new Platinum CM Tundra). Now he has a metric assload more on it, and I would say another 5000.00 for that. Now put in a few thousand hours at 105-140.00 per hour....adds up quick. This is why I build my own stuff. I would never pay that either.

I hope you went and purchased a Loto Ticket. Lol. Glad you made it out ok. Must have been sore as hell the next couple of days.

Those 5 point harnesses save lives. Things can be rebuilt, we just haven't protected human body part replacements yet.

So to start this suspension tuning thread, I will be placing some videos in this one and transfer when ready.

Here are some videos from Filthy Motorsports in Boulder, CO. I have used these guys a lot and met Ben at a Truck Fest event a few years ago, and have great customer support. Pretty good explanation of different shock/suspension design. Toyota vehicles are referenced in these videos. Pay specific attention to IFS and Leaf spring sections....great information and can answer a lot of questions I have seen on this site...and bed bounce.

Great order advice, King shock pimping.

What I learned from the last video, within the first 2 minutes, is effectively that I shouldn't have purchased "one size fits all" Toytec shocks, and should have something custom made?

I followed the advice from people on this site who are not suspension experts.. sounds like I should start from scratch with a company like this and make sure I get the right system for what I need.

I wouldn't say that. However, when ordering my 2.5 kings from Filthy Motorsports for the front of my TJ, was a totally different experience from where I ordered my rear 2.5 kings from. Fronts are pretty good to go, rears...not so much.
