My understanding is that yes. For the push start, 2020+ models have wiring in the middle between the rails. That space is adjusted to accommodate the wiring harness.

I live in MN. Any issues with drafts or cold air with the ESP? I mean you are removing 2" of insulation and replacing it with thin plastic and an empty cavity

From what I’ve been reading here on tundras.com you can install a thin insulation and/or sound barrier underneath the ESP products to help suppress noise and control cool air variations

    Thank you Casey! :hattip:

They are wired to the dome light circuit and turn on when the doors open or with the “on” position with the factory switch.

Amen brother, father sure did his part to make sure I would do tinkering “right”. He always said to make it “look like it grew there”. He is still very meticulous with his stuff even today. It feels good to know that all my mods (err um our mods - ya know, the child labor crew of mine, that Adam @AzureNightmare exposed earlier in the thread) have all been “passed off” as acceptable by my old man...

For you to notice, well that is just the “Good Schtuff” right there...

The long box already sits higher than the sensor due to the seat brackets.

That's pretty cool. Love the idea. Might have to look into that. How did you do the plug?

My bet is he used an OEM male/female 2-pin set of connectors, and the other side is tapped into the wires for the cargo light that are running in the floor gutter along the side of the cab before they head up the C-pillar to the light

I own a 2021 SX that does not come with remote start. I assume i dont need to worry about a sensor?

Yes, I pilfered a set of OEM 2-pin connectors from my RAV4 parts car and ran the wires through underneath the foam and on underneath the scuff plates up through the fire wall kick plate and up to the factory dome light switch.

It's not just the remote start, IIRC. It has to do with the smart handles, push button start, and such. 99% sure that connection under the back seat is in all 2020+ trucks.

    Thanks Earl.
I also noticed, in the thread comments, the triple storage option gives you two of three different depths. Does the long box storage option give you a continuous depth across? What is it? My apology for all these questions.

The long box is one continuous depth at 3 5/8 and 3/16" more with the lid

I understand. However, the TNDRASDTCM promo code helps a bit with $75 off and still has free shipping...

If your truck does not have push start then the wiring is not there. The installation of the box does not interfere with any of the functions.

This was from my recent install. I was concerned about the center section wiring, but it was no biggee. Just cut the foam insulation very slowly and you will feel it. ESP box install 3.jpg

Nope. Center section is not as deep as the two outside sections. Fits good. ESP box install 4.jpg
