Here's the thing, on the new Toyota parts store, I can't actually get part numbers. And although I have the part numbers on my receipts, I can't remember which parts in the above picture they correspond to (and I purchased a bunch of stuff). So you need to call your dealer with the part designators below and they can get you actual real parts numbers.

But I can tell you...you need qty 2, lights, 81080J in the above diagram. You can then make your own wiring harness. If you would rather use the factory connectors/plugs, (probably a good idea) you also need qty 1, 81080D. This is a harness that actually has two connectors on it so you can just cut it in half basically. It actually also comes with one of the lights, so you only need qty 1, 81080J. This will give you two blue factory LED lights and two connectors with wires hanging out of them that you can they wire to whatever 12v source you desire. You can see what I recommended above.

That said, IF my memory holds, this is what you need below: The first item is the light. The second item is a harness with two plugs and one light. Cut the harness in half and you then have a total of two plugs and two LED footwell lights. Good luck!

    Items Qty Subtotal
    LAMP ASSY, INTERIOR ILLUMINATION, NO.1
    Part Number: 81080-0C010

Super interested in doing this. Is there any kind of write up or walkthrough on where and how to mount the lights, and how to tie in to the wiring? I have a '23 Limited. Thanks!

Anyone add these to the rear? Plan on adding them under the seats the light up the rear floor. Was thinking of just tapping into the front leds so they din with rest of the mood lighting.

Now that footwell lighting is standard in all trims SR5 and up on the 2024 I wonder if retrofitting 22/23 models will be easier ? The ‘24 also has brighter map lighting up front. Can we change those LEDs out?

Really? How do you know that? Is nothing else, seems one could retrofit the panel.

I have a 2024 sr5 trd sport and it has the footwell led already in but they don’t stay on after you start the car. I can’t find any settings in the car to change that will keep them on while driving. Is this a tech stream configuration?

My 23 limited did not come with footwell lighting and this is something ive really been wanting to add. Im curious on how toyota wired it for the 24 models. really hoping there is going to be a fairly simple solution

So many 24MY new owners here but no one has posted their map light or state that it’s brighter than 22/23
Screen shot taken from YouTube shows a diffused map lens vs. the older all clear lens.

I am also interested in adding in the footwell lights on my 23 Limited OR. I have read throuht this post a number of times along with a few other posts. I do understand that buying a single light (part 81080J) and the single harness assembly (part 81080D) which has two connectors, a light and the wire I can put together two light assemblies for the drivers side and passenger side footwells. What has not been made very clear is where do you now plug in these connectors into and what is the overall functionality for the limited trim? Footwell lights come only when either drivers or front passenger doors opened and then go off when doors are closed? etc etc.

Thanks in advance of any help!

Well, just to be clear, you won't "plug" them in anywhere. You'll need to fashion a hardness and connect the Connector I61 plugged into the combination switch assembly. (The light is on the bottom of that assembly). You need pins 9 (green) for power and 16 (lavender) for ground. See my post #9 in this thread. As far as functionality, on my SR5, they will come on when the headlights are on. Off when headlights are off. Not related to doors being opened or closed.

Thanks Ryan. OK, so the two connectors on the 81080D harness are out the door. Do have a picture showing how you inserted the two addtional wires for LH and RH lights into pin9 and pin16 respectively on the I61 connector?

Would have been nice to see this work with door opening/closing to aid in stepping into the truck in dark situations but I guess that will need to be figured out separately.

Look at post #7. See where he put a pin on the yellow wire? Do that and jam it into the connector from the *back* and then tape it up. That way, you don't need to cut wires, and it's very easy to remove if you ever want to. It's really slick -- I've never seen it before, but I like it. Way better than splicing the wire if you ask me. Plus those wires are really small.

The full part numbers you need are shown on post #31 and pictorially shown on post #30 as 81080J and 81080D.

    You need one of these:

Has anyone added these to the rear footwell? I’d like my rear to have them as the front does.

Sorry I should have been more specific, I would like to add the door lights as well. I see the parts on post #30 but when I search the number listed beside it nothing comes up. I could be doing something wrong as well.

From what I can gather the parts numbers associated with the interior courtesey lighting in the Tundra have the following part numbers.

    810800-C010
    810800-C020
    810800-C030
    810800-C040
    810800-C050
    810800-C160
    810800-C170

    https://autoparts.toyota.com/search?search_query=810800c060

I am not totally clear either what each of these assemblies is exactly for because they are not identified in post #30.

Post #15 from this thread indicates that 810800-C030 and 810800-C040 are for the front passenger door.

You know guys, Zeke21 just pointed out to me that this would be much easier if you just tapped off of the glove box light wire. The harness is in there, even on SR5 models, there is just no LED plugged into it. You need to drop the glove box, but there are YouTube videos on that. The lights would then come off and on with the headlights.

You can also tap off the center console's ambient light. Pull the rear cup holder tray from the center console and then pull the rear face outward and it comes right off.

voltage is around ~7vdc from what I tested. Wiring is very thin gauge, so don't hook anything up that has significant draw. I wanted more like 5vdc to the LED lights I installed below each seat, facing rearward, one pointing downward from the top of the consoles rear cubby, and one downward facing light from both the DS and PS foot wells. I used a solid state relay that accepts between 3-32vdc input and will output anywhere between 5-30vdc. the center console light trigger the relay, and the relay receives power from a switchpro which has dimming enabled on that circuit and is programmed to turn on with the truck, then give a 120 second shutdown delay at ignition off which keeps the foot well lighting on with other ambient lighting until the door is opened. This could just as easily be done with a simple ignition on power source as well.
