Get ya a set of light pods on the mirrors for some ditch light action. And a tube bumper to mount a front light bar on.

and a S model spoiler to mount a tailgating light bar

Developments in the story have come to light.

19 year old male extremely disoriented. Call was initially for an O/D. The cops had just left the motel across the street for another O/D.

    Ky is great.

Here are pictures of the revised mount.

There's close to 430 lbs of magnetic force holding the light bar on. It should never move unless I want it to.

Hoping someone has some experience with mounting lights on the Yakima HD bars.
I decided to go with some inexpensive Nilights to start, that way if someone steals them I won’t be so devastated.
    Any ideas? Thanks!

    Forward facing I'm assuming?
If the bars are thick enough you could drill and tap the rack to mount some aluminum angle pieces, painted black.
    Am I making any sense?

Actually, they have a bracket for the Loadwarrior basket, but I’m wanting to mount them on the crossbars. And yes, forward facing on the front bars.

Did they come with an included relay? If so you just need to have the parking light circuit be a second input to the trigger wire on the relay where the switch would turn it on. Otherwise, you would want to add a relay so you don't add a bunch of new load that will blow the fuse on your parking light circuit.

Oh!! I see what you are saying, you're using the stock fog circuit. There is a wiring mod that you can do to turn the fogs on without the headlights but I'm not familiar with the process on a 1st gen.

Picked up this Cali Raised LED Lower grill light bar. I am looking for some recommendation on wiring.

The top bar is wired in and working. I would like to tap into the switch that is already in the cab to get them both to run at the same time. I don’t see a use for having them powered separately, unless someone someone here has previous experience with wishing they had two switches.

Can I tap into the wiring that is heading to the installed switch from the previous relay? If so, what is the best method to tap into that switch ?

I have a full wiring harness for the lower bar, and I plan to give it its own relay because the website specs the amperage at 30.

You can absolutely tap into your current switch. If your relay for the current light bar is already under the hood I would tap into the trigger wire (the switched +12V) pretty close to that relay and just connect that to your second relay's trigger pin. If your relay is in the cab close to the switch, I would personally ditch the effort of trying to tap the switch and bothering with the firewall again, and I would just tap the +12V out of the relay somewhere in the engine bay and use the existing relay to trigger your new second relay.

As for how, I like normally like to just cut wires and solder them all back together because it gives me more control of the connection. Or, you can use a set of t-taps which work well if you can get a good connection. I personally have some dislike for t-taps especially on very small gauge wires (20awg+) because it is pretty easy to miss the conductor or completely slice the conductor on a small wire and it is a pain to diagnose the problem when that happens.

Thanks for that. Perfect for a project I have coming up. Grabbed a DIR relay for my 2nd Gen while I was at it. This forum never ceases to amaze me with the things I find and learn.

Thank you for this. Luckily the relay is in the engine bay. I will mount the second relay close to it and just tap into that trigger wire.

Update: got the bar wired up and tapped into the trigger wire by pulling out the female connector to the first relay and re crimping a new connector with the second trigger wire and plugging it into the relay, is that okay?. Works great. Will post pictures once I test it here in a minute when it’s darker!

I've tried searching for this but have had no luck. Has anyone put a light in the "hood hole"? The one that lifts with the hood and doesn't seem to be functional at all. If yes, what light did you use?

    You're probably right!
The most common bar that folks put in there is the Baja Designs S8 in a 40" configuration using SDHQ hood bulge mounts. Another option that folks use (but I have not had any personal usage of) is the NSV hood bar that can be seen here:
    https://www.headlightrevolution.com...htbar-System-Toyota-Tundra-14-20_2?quantity=1

Shameless plug, but I can get you any of these options as well . I recommend the S8 in terms of performance, but it also comes with a cost bump to boot.

    Bulge lighting is quite common.

Look up the NSV light bar. Pretty much the boss of bulge lighting.
