Whatever this forum told me to do
I was just reading BMO Harris bank just pulled out of dealership floor plan finance. Capital one pulled out a couple weeks ago

now dealerships are going to pay mondo interest on floor plans when they refinance, if they can

lather that onto the UAW strike.

I think the word is “controlled demolition “.

I was fortunate enough to be a local government employee, when I was single they covered all Healthcare costs, got 2% COL raises most years. The last 5 years every time we got COL raises the health insurance went up so we basically lost each year. I am glad that I was able to retire with a small pension and Social Security

So, they lost my wife's engine cover on her little junk bronco when they did an oil change at the dealer last year.
Do you think this strike will affect me getting it replaced?

Just noticed the size of these houses. Are people having 10+ kids they need this much room? Are they painting rennaisance murals on the vaulted ceilings?

Interesting read here. CEOs make millions, sometimes more, and when they fail, they come out richer than ever. Your typical employee "fails", gets canned, and then must apply for unemployment and/or welfare.

Under woke morons like Jim Farley, ford will become an irrelevant has been of a company. He is obsessed with electric vehicles. The world is not interested in electric vehicles. Just like the 1970s when the big 3 laughed at toyota and honda’s adaptation to the real marketplace, todays big 3 will continue their decline.

ford lost 4.5 billion making cars that nobody want last year. Which executives will pay for that? None

Seems to me like a lot of the world is obsessed with EVs and it's not like Toyota and Honda aren't also offering a bunch of EVs.

I don’t think ford is so much obsessed with EVs, ford is just following gov mandated green initiatives. They are hamstrung by an oppressive government

as are the other big 3 companies

they will rely on gov to bail them out

    and gov will

and UAW will prevail no matter what. Because gov needs the power of those union votes

    it’s a nasty circle

It's amazing to me that people are ok with corporations fucking the middle class but get outraged at the unions. Do I think their requests are reasonable in this instance? No. Do I understand why they are asking? Absolutely. Corporations had RECORD profits in 2022. We're just lucky to get a tiny fraction of the profit we generate as workers.

I was against unions most of my adult life but the longer I work for corporate America the more I start to understand why people gravitate towards unions jobs.

For all those saying new cars are not affordable. Apparently that's not true because they keep selling them. Many people on this forum are perfectly fine with forking out $60,000 on a new Tundra.

My job is union by circumstance, it wasn't even a consideration when I took it 37 years ago.
Being in a right-to-work state, I don't have to be in the union to get the pay and benefits from it.
But I wouldn't make the money I make or have the health and pension benefits without the union, so I pay my dues.

On a local level, my Local sucks, they don't do shit.
They do as little as possible to keep their pay and car allowances.
I've lost more runs and mileage pay because they let the company make changes and the local union just takes it up the ass.
They say the company can do whatever it wants.
Unions are much stronger up north and on both of the coasts.
I'm only in the union for the national level of what they do.

They actually accomplished something in this last contract, although there are still people unhappy about it.
Most of them are part-timers who expect part-time work to be a living wage.
Part-timers have great health benefits, they don't pay out of pocket for, as well as a pension.
You heard me, part-timers get a pension.
Others are dissatisfied because they don't feel they are paid well enough..
These assholes could make $100 an hour and they would still bitch about it.
Then there are the people that bitch about the top pay progression.
It took me 2 years to get to top pay in 1986, it now takes 4 years to get to top pay.
I say pay your dues and earn it.

I'm not gungho UNION OR DIE, or even proud to say I'm a Teamster like some of these union guys.
They wear union apparel and think being union makes them special.
    It's nothing to brag about.
    It is what it is..

and that's just a small glimpse of what happens to their job/career... what about their families, their homes, their own bankruptcy issues, etc???

when a company is run poorly the CEO and other upper echelon folks should suffer similar fates, but as already stated they continue to flourish, move on to new CEO positions, etc...

When talking about and researching any large corporation and its successes or downfalls, it's important to look at the upper end investment firms that are driving/managing these corporations as well. IE>>> Everyone knows blackrock and vanguard are the two largest investment firms, but do folks know how many CEOs and other board level 'decision makers' they have put into place?? Decisions to run these companies or run them into the ground are generally not 'failures' or poor decisions; they are mostly strategic in nature.

To understand what is happening in the world of finance and the world 'in general', anytime you look at a company, CEO, etc... follow the money, follow the people giving it and those receiving it, and you'll get a much clearer picture of the motivations and tactics behind much of what is happening.

PS>>> Dogs let me sleep in till 1120 this morning :D (although I did go to bed at 0300ish, so really only 8 hours...)
