Damn good! My insurance at work is similar with the plan I chose. I pay $60 a week and the company pays $80 for a Cigna 100/80 plan. I need it. Ha!

My employer pays 100% medical for me, but really there’s no need for it as they also have KP so I don’t elect in it

I use my federal employee health plan and pay more than that. Although, that will change in a year due to the Postal Reform Act which will create its own health ins. plans. Nobody has a clue what they will be, but most guess they will suck and cost more.

Mine isn't free, but it's dirt cheap. Less than $200/month, low co-pays, family is covered no matter how many kids.

They also contribute $300/month to a invested VEBA account that we can use for medical expenses. (That was a contract negotiation ;))

Our union did something similar during contract negotiations for us a few years before retirement. Economy wasn't the greatest, so we gave up COLAs over the next few years and ended up w/Healthcare in retirement, plus employer contributions to a FSA account.

Worth it in my opinion, as that is a very large budgetary item in retirement. My premiums are about $2,600/yr, and I have FSA that I use to reimburse those premiums and other expenses. Without it, we'd be looking at premiums as high as $700 for similar coverage and no FSA (except what we created on our own)...

Not sure if you have anything for retirement set up like that, but I'd push hard to get something like that in place

After 20 years we qualify for retirement health insurance, not sure what it costs but it's definitely a lot cheaper than shopping the open market

Ours was self-funded, but had 3rd party administrators, etc... So, we retain the same coverage in retirement, but they ended up charging 'COBRA' rates minus discount for years of services 10, 15, 20, and 25. When we moved here though, we had to opt into another group plan otherwise most of our claims were going to be 'out of network'. So a few more restrictions, but the co-pays, etc. are all still very similar.

Same. It's like $350/month for my whole family, which isn't the cheapest. HOWEVER...copays are low, prescription coverage is FANTASTIC (I pay $25/month for Ozempic, one shot of which costs $1300 normally), etc. I'm not complaining one bit. :)

I take Zytiga among other meds. 0 copay. $7600 per month. I'm on it indefinitely now. Used to be $29K for 3 months when I was first taking it for 2 years. Most of my meds are 100% covered. Good thing. I'd be in the old debtors prison...or dead. Ha!

Nope not me. Didn't vote for it and advised everyone I knew to not vote for it. However, even with a lot of misinformed voters supporting it I don't agree that the the county or state government can act void of ethics.

Ok, so take his 15.4M salary and divide it up amongst them all, or even just 200k of them. That's 77 bucks each. Yes, his salary is huge for a single person, but even if he only made $100,000 it wouldn't fix the issue. That poster is great for stoking emotion, but doesn't really show anything that comes close to a solution. His job is likely to rub elbows with donors and petition for guberment dollars that pay for not only his salary, but the facilities everyone is working at. IDK if he's worth the 15.4M but he does have a job to do.

Not saying the strike isn't justified, as I don't know anything about the situation. I'm just saying that I hate those kind of weak points for protest.

In CO, there around 6K employees. Washington will strike Monday and I believe they are much larger there. It’s not just that, but all OT has disappears where the nurses, who should be performing nurse duties, have to absorb more roles. Bonuses were happening every year until a few years ago
COLA isn’t respectable; at least in CO (as it’s approaching CA, IMO)
