Who is getting amped up for Sep. 1st? I know I am. Bird count looks descent so far. Some places are covered up while others are dead.

I’m stoked most about my 10 year old carrying a gun this year. He has been quit the bird dog so far!

I'm next door in New Mexico but I cannot wait for Saturday!
I postpone the first half of my archery deer hunt because I love dove hunting so much.

I'm ready, planning on getting off work Friday for a hog hunt Friday afternoon and dove Sat morning. Saw lots of birds 2 weeks ago in the field.

I'm stoked. My 2 boys, 12 & 13 saved their money and each bought a 20ga. We've popped a lot of clay pigeons, & now they're ready to graduate up. Nothing like a bacon wrapped bird

It definitely is dragging. It's my opener for archery deer as well but it's still 90+ degrees here in the desert so I wait for the second half in January to take the bow out

It's cooled off this week. Hoping that gets them moving. If not just be hunting mornings and evenings.

Going to be upper 90s this weekend in Childress. Plus my game warden buddy said they are only seeing about 25 birds per outing. A good year they see 300-400! Luckily we have a freezer full of dove and crappie from last year

Partly cloudy and 99 is the scheduled forecast here, either way I'll be out when the sun's coming up so it will be a cool 75ish probably. My dove cache from last year is gone, time to restock!

Forgot my phone to snap some pics ended up with 13 in the bag (15 limit in NM), and had a hell of a time. How did everyone else do?

My son, myself, and a friend shot 45 by 8:30 am. I was late (6:35 am) because my damn Tundra had a check engine light come on and it was idling rough. I had to switch trucks (Titan) and take that thing hunting.

    Doves in the crock-pot cooking!

One pig and 5 birds, saw about 50-60 dove, took us awhile to figure out the best flight path.
