Hello Folks, I've had many Toyotas in the past (98 Tacoma, 2000 Tundra, 04 4 Runner) and now a 16 Tundra double cab, 4wd, 8' bed I bought used. I'm the one always leaving my turn signal on for miles mostly because I'm even more hard of hearing now. Is there a fix?

    Thanks

    Hearing aids?

Welcome from CO. Not sure. But someone will chime in if they have a fix.

Interesting... I don’t think I’ve noticed the turn signal sound...

I learned to ride a motorcycle before driving a car. My first car was a road bike without self canceling turn signals, so I guess its ingrained to always check to make sure they canceled (in a car: tap the turn signal post the opposite direction of where you put it pre turn).

But I guess that doesn’t help you... hope someone comes along with your answer soon!

look at the instrument panel. if you dont look at the instrument panel, how do you know how fast you are going ? how do you not notice the blinker flashing ? as a driver, you should be checking your speed and mirrors about every 3-5 seconds....

Riley-Yes, after driving 46 years I think I got that one. But an earlier post recommended the side mirror indicators. That one I like. Thanks

I like that its subtle. Too loud and it will make me not turn on the blinker if I know I will be sitting the light.

Just be thankful that it’s not the Ford Blinker signal sound!

Don’t use your signal, use your harm lol:D

    I’m kidding, WELCOME!

Does side mirror indicator sound like a good idea.

not trying to argue with you , but worked for a big company for 16 yrs and they were big on driving safety and this was preached and preached to us.

here is a article on this :

    https://www.defensivedriving.com/blog/how-often-should-you-check-your-mirrors/

" you should be checking your mirrors every five seconds. And this includes all of your mirrors, not just the rearview one."
