Yup. Since I am retired that is one of those unmentionable 4 letter words.

Now if someone wants to run with that idea and put it in the thread that’s awesome. But probably not going to be me.

Is that code for saying only one Tundra won't have a turbo(s) replaced?

I was thinking on every Tundra that has a turbo failure the other good turbo is the sole survivor? ;-)

    LOL.

If he wants to post his full VIN # on the inter webs he’s free to do so. That way everyone can look him and his truck up.

Pretty disappointed. Hard to argue this is just a small bad batch of parts at this point.

Wonder if we see start seeing replacement turbos failing.

Hate to hear this has happened to you and others. I would have hoped that by build date 1/22, Toyota would have made the assembly line parts change. Indeed, this could be a faulty design. I’ve stated before that Toyota has deleted my multiple posts on their Facebook page when I inquired about this issue. Looks like they are more worried about keeping it hush hush rather than being transparent. Deceitful tactics Toyota. It’s ok that you made an imperfect truck…they all are. But, what are you hiding from us? Very disturbing Toyota hasn’t had ANY response to the ongoing issues.

Yeah Toyota is firmly in coverup and screw the customer mode on this one.

Which is why we need to compile a database of these failures.

it usually only flashes for a misfire, at least that’s what I’ve seen VW/Audi do. Hmm, I’m sure it’s wastegate issue.

I doubt they’re trying to cover it up but no reason to tell everyone exactly what’s happening.

Well when they’re asked directly about it and just delete the posts, that is effectively engaging in a cover up.

My posts were not about spreading misinformation but rather information gathering. I diplomatically inquired about multiple reported issues and asked if they could provide insight. Specifically, I asked for an affected vin# range and update on parts supplier issue (If indeed that’s what it is). And then bam post gone multiple times. I didn’t even get a “yes we are aware of the issue and are in the process of implementing a fix”. To me, that seems like covering up….your mileage may vary.

Other people have mentioned the low oil pressure readings, but here's a great shot of a truck running 60 mph with the low reading. I suppose this is the normal range for everyone? Seems a little odd and hope this doesn't become an issue down the road.

Should add this to the running list of turbo issues. Which DTC was set.

This is funny because apparently 1st gen is like 3rd gen, the normal operating oil pressure is at 1/4 or 1/3 mark. 2nd gen switched it up and put it at 1/2 mark. If oil pressure were actually low, it would be at L and there would be a message on the center display.
