Having issues on 2000 tundra 4.7, I can dig into all the details but not getting power to the solenoid on the starter and not sure what else to check. Battery good, new starter after having truck sit all winter, old starter was bad, completely corroded. Relay checked and working, fuses under hood and in cab seem to be good after replacing, had the 40 am1 was blown and also 5amp mini under dash, getting power to starter but nothing to the solenoid any ideas my friends

    First, welcome.
Second, what electronics are installed aftermarket?
Third, is there any water intrusion of the cab that you are aware of?
Fourth, if you do not already have these, get a copy of the Field Service Manual HERE and copy of the wiring diagram HERE. These will become useful. Also, read through THIS THREAD to see why I asked my first 2 questions.

Light bar that isn’t hooked up not even the wiring harness because it’s shared with my off-road truck. I just pulled glovebox out don’t think I need to even look any further there’s corrosion all over the plugs.. we had a very weird mild winter up here, was freezing and thawing and raining which is most unusual instead of being/staying cold. Judging by looking at that and how badly corroded my starter was along with having a weird electrical issue last year I think that this thing is done for.. it’s the corrosion that’s probably in the wiring at this point. Already had to convert to 2wd after Grenada 3rd diff last year just getting to be too much with all the other quirks. What a bummer this makes me sad

It sat for 9 months this winter which I’m sure didn’t help with the unusual winter, was running/driving last summer

    Oh.

Thats kinda important detail there, friend.

You are aware of the major rodent issues with these trucks right?

They love to nest on top of the gas tank and chew up the hoses, wires and plastics.

They love to get in the dash via the cowl, passenger side, and chew up ECM wiring and nest in the dash.

They love to get into the air box via the cold air passthru of the fender, chew up the air filter and nest in there.

On the V8, they love to nest under the intake manifold, chew up the starter wiring, and knock sensor wiring.

So we ask you now, maybe the most important question: What have you done so far to rule out rodents at at play here?

Have you removed the glovebox to look behind the dash at the ECU wiring, and dropped the blower motor up under the glovebox area?

Have you popped out your air filter to look for chew evidence?

Have you gotten a telescoping mirror on a stick and flashlight to look on top of the gas tank?

Have you gotten a flashlight to look the both sides of the silver intake (the runners between the feet) to peek for signs of nesting?
