This install deserves a nice camera. Don't go cheep to save money, get something nice that will last.

I considered dropping some switches in the same location you did for this install but went with another solution. I love this mod and might put it on my list... Thanks for the detailed write up!

Can you send some recommendations with a similar mounting solution? There were so many I didn't know which to get so I just got this one to get it going. I can always change it later.

Did you just replace the head unit? I was about to replace my head unit that can do front camera but the FRAC harness came out and it was too good of a deal to pass. Glad I got it, I am very satisfied with it.

See now you see my dilemma! Please share with us when you find some. I found a nice Kenwood that can do different angles but it has an extra cable for the control unit that I'm not too find of. Check it out. Critchfield has it.

Without hitting your bumper anyway lol.
Also to note my front parking sensor started to go off at this distance. But I don't trust the front sensors because they are only on the sides.

Installed mine this morning.. Pro tip: install the harness bundle underneath all the wires in the back of the head unit. When you flip the head unit to go back in the bundle will be easier to push up into the crevice. Don't do what is pictured.

Also, @TundraTex it would be helpful if you increase the length of the vim wires about 5". I had to remove and rearrange the wires/head unit 2x to get the wires to reach the bottom trim.. In the process I lost both yellow top clips c4bf65e58196fa6478a67b342b4e271d_02229477bc34d50ff31cc7d026a5d32b410a3c43.jpg

NICE WORK @PMG!! Thanks for the feedback on wire length. @BlueBottle had the same comment. It is already being factored into FRACv2. If you look at your picture, you can see the yellow clips for the HU still in the slots. They tend to slip off on HU removal, but you can pop them out of the sockets and re-attach them to the HU before re-install.

Yeah, those clips are sonsabitches...They were all there and good to go... I lost the first clip the 2nd time I had to remove the HU to better stuff the frac in and I lost the last one on the 3rd HU removal because the vim wires were a bit short ☺

I'm excited to see some operational pics or videos when you get them! This is so COOL!!

@Tracker I took a quick look at this cam and it looks like it would work with the FRAC harness. I believe there is an additional switch/control that comes with the 320 cam to select between its various modes. To use it with the FRAC harness you would just need to select the Front cam video feed with the FRAC cam select switch and then select your desired view mode with the Kenwood control. Could be just what you were looking for.

I went on a mod binge this past weekend and I installed my FRAC harness yesterday...Thank you both @BlueBottle for the write up and @TundraTex for the harness. I'll take a picture and update later today.

Btw, does anyone know the part number for the clips and where to get them...I was removing the clip and then it dropped in the dashboard abyss. As a quick fix, I took a clip from the cup holder to replace what dropped from the HU. I figured it would be easier to remove the cup holder and replace.

Not so sure.. I think you would get a bunch of glare just bc the camera is right above it. maybe if u push the camera back a bit..? Or angle the the bar a bit down?

Nice job @porkitt! Any problems with the FRAC installation? Any suggestions to make things easier are welcome.

Let me know how you like it once you get to use it a bit.
