    My to-do list/pile of parts…

    - Rebuild/revalve shocks and rebuild bumps
    - Finish 12 point bolts on suspension
    - Install shorty headers
    - Power steering rack and bushings
    - CV boots
    - Replace spring perches, u bolts, center pins, and friction pads

    IMG_4040.jpg

My RCVs are trail spares/paper weights now.

I ran into 2 issues, no reason to not give them a try though. Seems like a lot of people remove and sell them…

1 - Inner boot rubs the bump stops, was able to modify the stock ones and adjust boot placement to clear, but no fixing with bigger aftermarket bumps. Pic is where they contacted Durobumps.

    IMG_3011.jpg

2 - How the splines that go in the front differential are cut, no fix for this. The splines on the RCVs taper instead of having a full stop like oem,and after that got shoved in towards the differential enough times it would get stuck slightly off center and damages the CV joint. Additionally the driver side would smack the center pin of the differential carrier and make an awful noise, probably not good for the differential. Pic shows spline differences - top RCV, bottom oem.

Interesting... I was under the impression they were better than OEM... perhaps I will wait until/if I break the OEMs to use the RCVs.

They have been in the box since I received them Sept 16th 2022.

Damn Just checked the RCV website. they are $900 more today than what I paid for them.

even with a bench mount spring compressor it wasn’t ideal to adjust the preload collar. Off to alignment she goes!

I lost the one that came with mine too. So
I ordered one of the spanners Dez linked to the other day. It's still in "pre-shipping".

    I haven’t used a spanner wrench in years… :anonymous:

    9/16” punch FTW. I think it’s 9/16” anyway.
