Yea, the route we took out alone the powerlines was more fun than the way we went in, I think.

That run was quite interesting to say the least...Wish I was recording it via Gaia but forgot to....The pizza at Bocce in Cottonwood after was pretty good

Yea, I enjoyed that run as well, except for the turn around in cactus haven.

@SAGE63 , @helidave , @FrenchToasty , @Cruzer, and others, it was a pleasure meeting and rolling with you all. I’m already looking forward to next year so we can explore some more.

@Cruzer and @SAGE63 hopefully the damage to your trucks are not too bad and quickly back to the normal awesome wheeling machines.

    Best of times Brothers.

I knew your bed step broke, but someone told me that something flew up and hit your truck. Glad to hear not true.

We decided to not take the Moab route. Figured that deserves a separate trip for itself so that it won’t feel rushed. Was going to go down to the Presidential Staircase in NM but also decided against that. It’s in a remote isolated location and assistance could be sparse if got in a jam. So we are heading East on I-40 heading for the Windrock Off-road park in TN. It’s a large private off-road area with tons of trails ranging from easy to extreme. Since I’m not @Cruzer , I’ll stay away from the extreme . A buddy of mine takes his Jeep there and says it’s a blast.

Has anyone ever make the trek from the Northeast? If so, who has and planning to trek out. So in for next year or another event like this in 2022!

April. Except when it’s in October. :)

T2S is supposed to be in April; however, various C-19 considerations got it moved to Oct in 2021 (and a small group also went in October, 2020). It should be back to April going forward, but the specific dates slide a bit, depending on various factours such as other events that also task forestry personnel, or Sedona area facilities; vendor availability, as when some special vendor contribution is planned (we got to preview the 3rd gen Tundra in October, 2021, in the “wild”, well before it was seen about anywhere else)… that truck even participated in Go Fast Friday!

If you want to go, start preparing your coworkers and family for next April, then keep an eye out here for the dates. There’s also a website and a FB page. Look up Tundrastosedona.

I was looking into what it would take to get there from the northeast myself in the coming years. At the current gas prices with my required premium I was looking at $750 one way just for gas. It’s also a 34 hour drive if I went straight through which isn’t possible :( Not that it can’t be managed if I budget for it, just sucks. Ironically i was there April 9th-16th just on vacation and then realized this was going on shortly after. We flew in for that though and we loved it there. For this year I’ll just have to pretend I was there….:anonymous:

@KevinK I just thought of something for T2S 2023.... One of the things I don’t like about T2S is the long drive to and from the trails. I’m thinking it would be cool to have an overland group(s) that heads out Tuesday morning and comes back Thursday. For example, hit up House Mountain, then to Mingus Mountain trail, camp at Mingus, next day Smiley Rock, then Powerline one way, cut over to Greasy Spoon, camp somewhere, following day hit Oak Creek Homestead in reverse, then back to T2S base camp. Depending on interest there could be an easy and hard group. This will allow people to get in a lot of the trails so that they can attend GFF and the half day Saturday (since raffle takes up the first half) without feeling like they are missing out on trails.
