Oh yea. Oil change and trans drain and fill this weekend and it’ll be gtg. I was underneath to assess all the damage I’ve inflicted since last year so I’ll know what’s fresh and what’s old.

Turns out I needed another half inch of clearance here…:notsure:

I don’t normally go around spending other peoples money but we need you to swap the white Roto pax for this one and make it a Toyota retro banner theme…

Did my oil change this past week. Changing out the air filters this weekend.

BTW, what trail did you do that damage on? I’m interested in doing Broken Arrow but concerned with my rear departure clearance.

You can take off your rear bumper and I’ll look after it for you. Might want to take the mirror caps and door handles off too so they don’t get scratched :D

It wasn’t in Sedona. I think it was on an offshoot of the Copper Creek trail near Mammoth. We were trying to make it to some abandoned mansions and it got sketchy.

You’ll be fine for Broken Arrow - just make your you don’t have a trailer hitch in the receiver.

Thats the thing. My spare carrier is in the hitch receiver. It is a DirtCom carrier and they do angle it up a bit for more clearance. I have seen some videos of broken arrow where full size trucks are dragging their rear bumper.

They are probably doing optional stuff like this…

I kissed a slider and frame on bottom but no bumper/hitch contact.

    Nicely done!

I don’t have sliders either so you think I’ll be ok as long as stick to the simplest path?

Should be okay but you’ll be puckered in a couple spots and have to stay vigilant with tire placement. They definitely recommend skids/sliders. I was prepared to run it last year without sliders but they ended up being delivered 48 hours before I left so we threw them on.

Last October I hadn’t quite ran my truck as much as I had wished, to know its yays or nays. So I took it easy and had fun, also taking it easy, I definitely bottomed out on whoops at the cinders haha, so i learnt I need better leafs while on the trip. But since then, I’ve done quite a few more trails with it and feel more confident in its abilities. The boathauler said I should be good on that trail, I trust his judgment.

Do not hesitate to ask for a spot either. Take your time and you can do any obstacle on that trail

I'm gonna give the truck a one-over and make sure nothing is about to fall off. Also going to remove the front swaybar, cause I like to party.

Do many people do smiley rock? Watched a couple videos and it looks cool.

LOL, the “ish” part is the concerning point. From what I’ve read, it’s a pin stripe magnet.

Last year I was on 275 / 70 18s. Just shy of 33”. I have 2” of lift up front and a little over an inch in back.

Yea, I’ll probably be skipping Smiley Rock for lack of sliders. I have AMP power steps for the family.

Hmmm didn’t know that. If it were mine, I’d take them off before running the harder trails.
