We’re still working on the actual camp spot. It may or may not be the same place as last year. I’ll post up as soon as it’s 100% confirmed.

ill go scope some potential spots this weekend...i think the original spot is great though, its close to the road so u dont have to drive 40mins with a trailer down trails to get to camp, and if the wife/kids need something its not a venture to get to civilization... it has 3 smaller (4-7 truck) spots and then the big one (20trucks) with the fire pit

what improvements are we looking for @KevinK so i can keep an eye out

There's a big spot at the top of Schnebly Hill we're considering. I haven't seen it yet other than satellite and some pics from other people. It's closer to the freeway, so even though it's technically farther from Sedona, it's actually faster to get there. It's also closer to Munds Park and Flagstaff, so I'm kinda hoping that spot will work. I'll text you coordinates.

That's a good area. Did you need to get permits for the event?

Yeah, I've been working with the Forest Service for the past few years whenever we do the event. It's too big to do without them involved.

And we do volunteer trail maintenance with them one day of the event. They've been super to work with.

Work with??? They didn't do chit while we cleaned up campsites. Lol . J/K .they were cool and we cleaned up sites where people made multiple fire rings in the same camp site. Some of the bigger group sites had 4 or 5 fire rings. So don't build multiple fire rings in the same site. That just means more work for everyone.

Can you take the Schnebly hill rd. to and from Sedona? Or does that take to long?

Haha! Yeah, they kind of provided some direction and tools, and said 'have at it! we'll take pictures of you working.' It was pretty cool overall though. And the USFS said we've gained some notoriety in the area as good stewards of the land, and they're basing some of their current and future permits on our template.

Hmmm... maybe we should chat about a sponsorship opportunity. :hattip:

Yes, you can use Schnebly Hill road to get back and forth. It's one of the most beautiful drives in Sedona, and 2WD friendly. I recommend it for anyone who has never seen the trail. I'm going to suggest every first time visitor to the area take it at least once from camp down to Sedona.

    But,

It is bumpy - air down quite a bit to smooth the little rocks. It does take longer to get to Sedona this way than the paved freeway.

Fuck that. Tell whoever has a conflict they can suck my ass. You missed last year too. Hell, did you even make it in 2016? I know you were there for 2015.

Absolutely! Several of us locals have visited the spot to make sure it works for us. It’s perfect.

Yessir! Big open space south of Schnebly Hill road.
