Is there any good fishing places close by to where we are going to be?

    Back on track here.....

So the ones coming out from SoCA, when do most of you start heading out? Do most of you truly go for the full event and get in AZ on Wed the 26th? Or do you get out there Thursday?

Curious if you guys try and meet as a group some where off the 15fwy and Caravan out all together.

I am coming from LV and could caravan out unless you drive like my grandma. Not sure when I want to leave this year. I normally take Sunday and do a hike instead of offroad that day.

Some of us do caravan... we can coord something for that.. just PM locations and contact info and I will work on a plan. It depends on peoples sked, keep in mind its about a 8 hr drive from socal to the camping spot so we need to calculate departing time... so we dont get there at midnight, cause setting up camp in the dark sucks.. and in ref to getting there wed or thrus.. depends wed is tough for some to take off that much time. And its just as good if you drive through the night and get there thursday morning for the long day which can suck so they all have pros and cons.

its more like 8 hrs, with gas and food stops...

and the 10 way through flagstaff is nice during the day but so is the south route on the 10.... generally i meet up with people from riverside on the 60 and 10 interchange somewhere then roll out..

Is the place we're going to be for the 5 days an actual camp site with paved roads, running water and a bathroom or is it a camp site where you bring in your own water, are in dirt and you're amongst the trees? Either way is fine with me. Just wanted to know....

If the latter, where do you get water from while there?

It will be dispersed camping. No facilities, dirt roads in the trees. Those that don't camp can get a hotel close or I think a few got cabins too. We normally pack 10-15gal of water or if you only have a 5 gallon container I am sure you can refill it in Sedona if needed.

Thanks n2deep!! This is the kind of camping I like. That way were not near anyone else except Tundra people. Not a bunch of campers all spread all over a camp ground. Cool.

I just needed to know what to bring. I'll be in a TT so I'll just fill everything with water before I leave, or maybe fill up in Sedona so I don't have to haul all that water around, who knows what I'll do.

@Lars if you and the wife are going to Sedona in April you'll need to pass through Vegas. We should caravan down together. What do you think??

Vegas is the wrong direction. We will be coming up from Central Texas, across New Mexico, and into Arizona.

I feel like a noob for asking but I don't wanna show up to gun fight with a knife. Right now I'm just lifted on 35's and hope to get some sliders and some recovery gear. Any other kind of essential gear or accessories that would be needed or helpful for this trip.

Haha thank you @Lars. That does help. I've never been to Arizona and I don't know what to expect out there so just trying to gather some info on rig gear and what not for me and possibly other people going out there for the first time.
