Tundras sit too low. Unfortunately you have to lift them compared to stock Chevys

Nope, the post is right as I too had the air dam on a limited TRD-OR, deleted it since I added the TRD Lift.

Agree. Stock height definitely wouldn’t work for me

Well, I'd disagree with you. The height was actually something we liked. Too low would never be a deal breaker, but too high certainly could be. We test drove a Raptor and it was an immediate no go for my wife. We often are chauffering 80+ year old parents around, the height sure makes this easier as well.

It fully tucks away so it's no different at low speeds than any other stock Tundra without it. I think in the US market the only application that it's not installed on is the hybrids, regardless of whether or not it's equipped with TRD OR

Theres no spoiler on the hybrids? I dont have mine yet, but that seems counterintuitive

Or the rear pumpkin on the Tundra. If they all measured from the pumpkin then I imagine they would all be approximately the same since most of them are running ring gears in the 9-10" range.

If you have a truck with a 32" tire and a 10" ring gear, you can't have more than 11" of clearance, and that is not even counting the differential housing or compression of the tires under the weight of the truck. Realistically the most clearance you might be able to get is 9".

Oh, I agree with you, the OP is nuts. Just pointing out that GM wouldn't even make the top 10 if they actually measured the lowest point on them.

I don't know if we'll ever find out for certain. It may be a matter of parts availability due to the current supply chain issues, so they prioritize the trucks that don't have as good mileage as the hybrids. It could be a computer limitation in the hybrid (i.e. the computers have a finite amount of processing or I/O resources).

I suspect it has to do with prioritizing the non-hybrid trucks for CAFE standards combined with limited parts availability. Unlike the EPA highway/city/combined mileage that is advertised to us, CAFE numbers are far more nuanced and measured in tenths of an MPG, and have contributing components such as vehicle area (likely why they now sell the crewmax with the 6.5 ft bed, it helps offset CAFE calculations), how many vehicles are sold, and whether or not it's a hybrid and how big the battery is. It probably made more logistical sense to put them in the non-hybrids if they were forced to choose.

IDK. The chevy is listed as 8 inches. Looking at it, 8 inches is less than you'd think. At least, that's what I tell the ladies.

Being low is cool when you have sliders and armor to drag the truck over stuff. I am in the process of tryign to get my SAS'd 95 4Runner to not be 27' off the ground.

I can confirm my Limited Hybrid TRD OR CM does not have the spoiler system. 8/2 build date, 10/7 delivery.

Perhaps they change the canbus connection for the air dam/front spoiler to run the 2 electric fans in front of the radiator that's on the Hybrids.

Having an open C box allows for compliance. If off-roading it can't be beat.
Because your tires will not leave the ground as with a fully boxed frame.
Sweers is an offroader and preached the design for years.
But they needed the new model to be ok with every vehicle that will share the frame across the line. So they went to a fully boxed frame.

Yes sir, 100% sure there is an active spoiler up front in addition to the active shutters. I've had the front end apart while installing the TRD Pro grill insert and color match grill surround and removed/reinstalled the shutters while doing so. Also changed the oil a couple times, which requires the active spoiler be lowered (service mode) in order to remove the skid plate. Takes 10 seconds to do so, and not nearly as difficult as it may sound.

I honestly don't see any issue with the spoiler, so far at least. Thought it was a little strange when I first realized it was there, and like you, though it was slightly ridiculous to put on the TRD Off-Road package trucks.. My truck leaves the pavement quite often and i've not seen an issue yet. The active spoiler simply won't deploy in most any situation where you would potentially be ripping it off. As for it's winter worthiness... To be determined! I'll report back, because it won't be long before we get some snow & ice.

Tundra has one the highest ground clearances ... You can lift all you want but your tire size is the only factor and there is a limit or a big trade-off for that.
Coolness and ground clearance are 2 different things. I don't have anything against lifting and the trucks look cooler when lifted (to some extent) but some confuse the two.

Having said that, buying a Chevy or Ford is uncool. :D

Nope. USB-C is rounded on both ends, almost oval.
