It looks like they make a lot of clones. I saw some that look like spiderco, WE knives, Kershaw, a couple look like microtech strider clones. Definitely good looking knives, some even had S35VN blades, but I'd be wary of their quality

They’re very solid, but tough to put a really good edge on. Very serviceable, especially for the price.

Love classic knives, have a couple old ones lying around in my garages work bench next to my homemade knives(none are actually heat treated or tempered so calling them knives might be a bit of a stretch- Blanks, thats a good word for them)

I wonder how the newer ones compare. Buck and Case used to be everywhere, but I don’t see many people carrying them anymore.

Google kept asking if I meant that, but I kept telling it no. Guess his Santa isn’t the only one who spells names wrong.

If you know custom knives then maybe you've heard of Andy Alm designs? hes in Pittsburgh, PA and he makes railroad spike handled knives. he uses a different steel for the blades so they're actually useful instead of just a super low carbon bar

Well, I was initially impressed by the gift received....Then somebody mentioned the Benchmade, so I did some research.

I think I simultaneously shit myself and then started hoping that my SS is equally as generous :anonymous: If my SS is reading this, I wear a size 60'x40' shop with an RV bay. :D

This thread is about to get interesting.

Well its really is the thought that counts.

Also please do not compare yourself to other members, that's one of my faults. There are a lot of members here who have great paying jobs making lots of money, very attractive wives and great looking families they take pride in. Not to mention of course some great looking trucks.
I have none of those, and my job well I work for home depot, so theres that. So if I was to have taken part in the santa thing any gift I would have sent may not have cost $1000 but it would have been well thought out and for that member.

So don't fall into that trap buddy, you do you and do it the best you can, let the chips fall where they may.

Completely agree. There's no reason for anybody to rack up a bunch of debt for something as light-hearted as this. If it's good enough to put a smile on your face, it's good enough to put a smile on their face.

This. Well considered is better than most expensive. Although for whoever's got me, both at the same time are acceptable

It was meant to be slightly humorous but yeah I definitely understand. I'm also one of the youngest members on the forum so I'll always compare myself but also doing so with the knowledge that you all have more life experience, have been working longer, and are more responsible with your spending. I'll be there one day, just not while I'm still living in MA

Dude, from a guy that used to pay his electric bill with a credit card, stay smart and make good decisions. A few bad ones spice things up a bit, but don't make too many.

Coming from a guy who has 5 motorcycles in his garage, only 2 of which run, he's right. :anonymous: Be smart and it'll pay off in the long run.

Hence why I'm leaving MA as soon as financially possible. The quality of life here isn't great unless you're making 25+/hr. my friend in maine has a 3 bedroom house with a yard that he's renting for $400+ utilities a month. in MA $400 will maybe get you a 500sqft apartment with no parking. I have a job lined up for when I move where I'll be doing general handyman stuff making 17/hr which is more than I'm currently making. and once I'm 21 my job opportunities will expand a lot and there's a lot of decent companies hiring in the area I want to move to. I had fun for my first summer out of high school and blew through all the money I made, now that I have my truck and options to go places I'm gonna buy a 8x16 enclosed trailer so wherever I move I can always start a small landscaping business if job opportunities look bleak.
