To be fair, I am at my desk and I am doing my job as well.

Weekends are usually calm, so I have fewer demands on my time. If stuff goes awry, I am definitely on top of it.

Best thing in the world for a telecom network is for the NOC monitors to be bored. Means shit isn't broken.

It honestly helps productivity when there is enough leniency to allow for stuff like this.

If somebody is breathing down your neck that you have to be continuously productive every single second, you are less productive due to stress and panic.

Engaged employees are the most productive, and no employee is engaged or gives a crap if they are treated like they are property of the company when they clock in.
