Nah, I'd do a v6 pentastar with a manual transmission. They're pretty reliable in that setup, but for what it'd cost I'd rather buy just about anything else. The Jeep badges must be made out of platinum plated titanium and affixed with a mixture of centaur spit and unicorn piss.

Ones of those I would consider:

Only car (i.e. if the wife and I have one car and the Tundra):
    Civic
    Elantra
    Forte
    Mazda3
    Corolla

Daily/fun car for me (i.e. if the wife and I each have a car plus the Tundra):
    Camaro
    Challenger
Veloster N (no manual in the regular Veloster?)
    Miata
    Z
    BRZ/GR86
    Impreza/WRX/STi
Maaaaaaaybe whichever of those BMWs is 2 door but I really can't see myself driving one

Note to self: Commuting in the RZR is only a good idea if both trips are going to be above 50 degrees. Travelling 50 MPH when it's 34 degrees out causes a very similar sensation to a brain freeze right above the brow. :censored:

I......don't like manual transmissions. For a daily driver I would literally never consider one. Even for a toy it would have to be a truly incredible deal for me to end up with one.

Yeah. Woke up at 1:30 from a crazy dream. By 2:30 I’d moved to the couch. Got a few “light” hours of sleep but feeling like a zombie now.

I am sorry my friend, but it is true. I think people are out of their mind when they get a manual daily driver. Like when people say they want to get a manual Tacoma and they can't wait to go off-roading I'm just like yuck. When I'm on a steep hill 10 inches away from a big tree with one wheel in the air the last thing I want to be thinking about is working pedals keep my vehicle from shutting off. Or like driving in stop and go traffic, especially in hilly cities. Just yuck!

I get it! My first car was a manual VW golf and remember being thrown to the wolves by my Dad on driving it in traffic and on hills. It gets a lot easier the more and more practice that you get. You make a valid point about wheeling though. I'm not so sure I would want a manual in that scenario either. So many other obstacles and things to focus on. Where you lost me was the "toy". My FIL had a manual R/T Challenger and that thing was an absolute blast to drive.

I drove my sister's manual Miata and it was fun, but modern automatics are plenty fun for me. Now old autos, I see why people preferred manual.

Could have, and I tried it, but the tie downs felt a little sketchy that way. I didn’t know how that would travel on the highway heading home either.

Going cheap and doing ABS sensor guards. Then I'm thinking new skid plate so I don't have to drop it every time a do an oil change.

Yes! The RCI is a must, made oil changes way better plus the obvious protection.
