Yep, solid rain all over the Seattle region. Classic. Still headed to the hills. Cannot let the weather dictate activities around here in the winter. You’ll never leave the house. Unless of course it means snow on the slopes!

    Good morning, Everybody.

Hope your weeks are progressing well. So far so good on this end, but it was pretty cold this morning. 3* when I came to work 4 hours ago.

I was up a ladder in 9* this morning clearing snow off the dryer vent as the water heater was sounding like a jet.

I wish I had snow to shovel. We've been cold, but no precipitation to mention. A couple inches a couple times. We are in for a terrible summer if it doesn't pick up. That, or we need monsoon rains through spring and summer.

Nah, I really do. This is some bad news drought that is going to be hitting us this year if things don't change.

It rained until we got to the mountains, then it dried up and was even sunny for part of the day. 2FC0F1EC-AC24-43E2-97DB-E60A55FB3D8F.jpg

Nope. It was a little noisy the first place we went:ABEA2730-C11C-4648-BB2B-F1686557DAC6.jpg

The other pic was from another location but nothing came out to check out the Tundra.

Yesterday was a good day to take off. I only had about 40 emails this morning and none were fires. Purged those in 15 minutes and was off doing real work before my second sip of hot caffeine.

Replaced my OEM windshield wipers yesterday afternoon. Was really impressed they lasted so long. Normally wipers last me about 5-6 months. A clean windshield is an OCD of mine, so I replace them when the first streak appears. Normally that streak is about 1/8" wide and right in my line of sight. Drives me nuts. Was driving in the rain yesterday morning and realized the entire wiper wasn't giving me a clean swing. Never had a wiper last me long enough that the entire blade fails.

    ...must resist the one-wiper jokes...

Even better! It's Monday number 2 for me, but I love my job. It's kinda nice to not be stuck at home right now.

At least they have actual music on their hold instead of the elevator music. The "your call is important" crap every 30 seconds is getting old though.

Yeah, that crap is horrible. Or having to push 1 every few minutes to remain on hold.

I gave up after 30 minutes and left a message. They've not called back yet. The guy on the next shift will follow up in an hour if they don't get back to us.

The option to have the call centre phone you back when someone is available is the greatest invention of this century.

I think I had it happen once it twice.

Now that I think of it, I'm trying to remember if that was the IT department for the company I used to work for.

Or if they actually know how to use the system and don’t disconnect as soon you explain the reason for your call
It is a nice option though

Yes, it is good...but it conflicts with the anti-spam tech on our cells. I've had calls go direct to voicemail because I forgot to turn off my call filter. So the cycle started all over again. I've also missed calls because it took hours and I was off doing something more important. It is better, but not perfect.

This was all for work on desk phones, but I see all your points.

I'm off to bed. Hope you all sleep well.
