There is a Bass Tournament on the lake this weekend...I don't want to beat up the fish too bad. I'll go Saturday up in an area about 15 miles from where the tournament launches and beat them up there.

*I used to fish tournaments and just offering a courtesy of not catching fish in the areas they will be fishing.

 

I wish more people were courteous about such things. Still, getting the truck up to 100% is a good plan.

 

Just got the call....ready for pickup. All recalls corrected.

I built this fire poker on my lunch break yesterday using 1/2" cold roll I pulled out of the scrap bin at work. I'm planning to paint it with high temp bbq paint to prevent rust.

The wife thinks I should make a few more and try selling them on FB Marketplace for $40. Dunno if they'd sell, but if I find more material I might try it.

 

I dig it. Would be perfect for a campfire.

 

I was actually sitting around a campfire last weekend and kept looking for something to poke at the logs with. This was the offspring of that idea.

I based it off the old wrought iron poker my parents had when they used a wood stove in their house.

 

Growing up, you could ask my parents generation "where they were" when the first men walked on the moon. 9/11 is my moon walk.

I worked for a digital stock photography company that had a division that specialized in news photography. I was actually the equivalent of a system admin of a brand new system that we had just rolled out in support of the news division. My wife work me up when the first airplane hit. I thought it was just an accident and went back to bed. When the second airplane hit, I was out the door and hauling ass into work. I distinctly remember running past one of the Fine Art Editors out for his early AM smoke when I arrived at work. He had no clue what was going on. I worked 12-14 hours for the next few days. Got invited to all the high-level meetings. Pretty cool shit for a 26 year old that had worked at the company for only a year. My work took me to NYC for the 6th month anniversary, which I believe is when they first lit the twin-beam lights.

Where did everyone go? No random chat going on tonight?

 

Not quite dead, but this cold is keeping me down.

 

Went out with my friend to shoot our bows. Then this happened. Got stuck and grenaded the front driveshaft. Had to call another friend out to give us a tug. Ratchet strapped the driveshaft up and limped home after dark, covered in mud, 3 hours late.

This was a good reminder for me that since I travel this country solo alot, I need to upgrade my self recovery gear.





At least the view was nice while we waited.
