Seems to me like the knob turns the wrong way for that to be a concern. But I can see why you would be scared to accidentally run in 4WD on the bone dry streets of Houston.

You must be pretty tall. A guy I trained for his CDL was like that. He'd be hitting all kinds of switches on the lower dash with his knees in one of the trucks because it had such little legroom. He's 6'2" and it's a constant struggle for him in vehicles.

 

Nope. Just 5’10”. I guess I just sit too close to the dash.

 

Depends on where your height comes from. Long torso or long legs. I'm only 5'6" but I have long legs. I'll get in a truck at work after a 6 foot guy drove it, and I don't have to do anything but raise the seat back. Hate driving while lying down. Another guy here is my same height, but has no legs, so if I hop in after him I hit my knees on the dash.

Anyway, you might just have long legs.

 

Well damn. I was going to post up pics of the yard and road into work today, because we got another 6-8 inches of snow. They are crap pics. Blurry and don't really show anything very well.

 

Good. None of us want to see that crap anyway.

I've never seen that happen before. Perhaps Roman has an exploded parts diagram that could shed some light on the assembly and what may have failed? I'd tag him in the OEM parts thread with your truck info. Or ask @Ruggybuggy if he's seen it before. Long time Toyota tech.

 

My advice is to stop letting your wife ride in your truck until she learns not to wreck stuff.

57⁰ air temp with 87⁰ water makes for some fog! Fishing was great. Lake Texoma I caught some Largemouth bass, Smallmouth bass, Spotted bass and Stripers. Grand Slam of a day.
