Going to have a final round of heat here this week. Temps should reach 85-90 by Thursday and then cool off into the 70s. Hopefully start a steady decline for the season. I’m ready for Fall and cooler weather.

Cool off into the seventies.... that'd be nice. Opened my front door and snapped this about 5 minutes ago.

I cannot really complain. We need the moisture. I'm just not looking forward to the idiots out there trying to drive in it. I'd bet money that I-80 gets shut down. Casper will have problems as well.

Dang, that's just nuts. Looking forward to your tire report. That is one on my short list...

We got invaded last night by the smoke from CA's fires. The sky has an orange hue to it (cannot get a pic that does it justice) and it smells horrible.

Well, it took a few hours but I don't give two-chits about today. People are just firing emails to look busy. Granted, emails are how everything gets done in this working-remote environment, but if you don't have anything to say then stop typing!

So far I am pleased with the Falkens.

In the name of science, I pressed it and ran 2WD at speed limit on wet, sloppy mud, slush, and windblown/packed snow and a little ice. Driving like the pavement was dry I expected some fight and loss of traction like my BFGs used to do. I had no loss of traction. The only thing that really felt different than dry was the resistance and pull from the slush and standing water. Color me impressed.

I'll try it out more later in the day. See if I can find some deeper snow, maybe.

Ok, so I found some slightly worse roads to test the tires on. 4 to 6 inches of heavy wet snow/slush on top of pretty watery mud. Prime conditions for hydroplaning and wheel pull from the snow.

I romped into it in 2WD and, though the rear would float and swing right, it was all very controllable. The direction of travel was easy to maintain even with a heavy foot. This was with all nannies in full operation. I was able to maintain my side of the road even with the rear kicked out.

When I put it into 4WD everything straightened out. Even leadfooting it there wasn't any serious movement. I think the Falken Wildpeaks are a winner.

Have you taken them on the freeway/highway yet and noticed any difference in noise at the higher speeds? TIA.

I've put a few thousand miles on them, and plenty of that has been interstate driving. With my DirtyDeeds 10" exhaust system I don't hear any tire noise, so I can't really help there.:D
Honestly, unless a tire is absolutely obnoxious I don't usually notice tire noise; regardless of the vehicle I'm in. I just don't pay attention to that.:sorry:
