Mother in law gave me this thing, its apparently a buffet table and belongs in the dining area.


I ripped it apart fast and sanded it.


Then hit it with some of this. She might get pissed when she sees it. She gave it away and has no say as far as I'm concerned.


Gonna do the drawers tomorrow and another coat on the sides at least. I'm on the fence about painting the top, digging the raw look. I regret doing the bottom now, considering taping off the painted parts and sanding the bottom painted parts down.

Paint it or no?

 

Yeah I actually considered doing the top dark gray. My floors are "silver" wood and eventually I'm going to change my kitchen to gray cabinets and white counter tops.

Its gonna go near that fire place, which I will eventually replace the tile on. Dont worry those old lady night gown curtains are gone already.

 

Yup, gray and white can't go wrong. My wife and sister in law (who's opinion on such things I trust) say do it all white but well see. I just texted her "what about gray?"

If I convince her, my wife will agree. I think the top needs contrast.

 

Looks God Damn good! I dig the ceiling and that window is killer. That brick tile carrying through and the shelves look nice.
