I’d like to see some engineering tech change, to make a variation of this game.

If they came up with Reverse Soccer, where a ball seeks out the players, like a rolling land mine, and shocks the players it catches, that would add a lot of interest. The players would hide in the net areas (this would be the safe zone), and to score you have to run to the opposite safe zone, perhaps with a team ball, without getting shocked by the AI shock ball, and potentially getting carried off the field on a stretcher.

    something like that. :cookiemonster:

I like your thinking here. And I agree people spend too much time talking about bullshit in the middle of work, and also playing career games. A good organization can see through all of that. Most don’t.
So, fist bump. :fistbump: Set your BS detector to 11. You got this!!! :hattip:

I like being able to BS at work, but only if tasks are complete.

My field is a bit of a feast/famine setup for workload. It's either busy as hell or it's dead as hell. Slow times it's nice to be able to pass the time with friendly coworkers.

Big thing I struggle with is stagnation. Hard to get training and info on new stuff because we are a skeleton crew and I only see most coworkers 4-5 days per month.

That sounds A LOT like my in-laws. They called me today, fishing for me to fix something at their house. It’s crazy, and I have to laugh! They are too cheap to hire someone, calling their relative (who is also too cheap to hire someone)

    Yep, I agree.

And my idea wasn’t intended to show folks how to suck up to the boss. If it came across that way, I can live with it though.

Your feedback and coaching was great. I'm going to use it tomorrow, so don't feel the need to hold back. I think it is great advice for any member who is going into an interview.

We need to humble ourselves and be open to the feedback from peers and those who have been there. Part of what you are seeing is just venting on my end.

The workplace and job market has changed a lot from when I started 20 years ago.

Maybe indoor soccer would be more your speed. That's what I currently play. It's super fast paced as there is no real out of bounds or off sides. You can play the ball off the walls and you can check people. Definitely a lot more physical then traditional soccer.

I'm officially old. I had to get a pair of glasses. My eyesight is still very good, but sometimes at night I can use some help. Ordered a nice pair of Nike frames while we were at Costco. Should have'em in about a week.

Speaking of Costco, we dropped $600+ there tonight. :eek2:

We essentially restocked our basement fridge with meat, that's where a lot of the cost came from.

Getting old will do that. Other than a bit of red/green color blindness, I've always had great eyesight. Now I have to keep a pair of readers everywhere, I have some in my truck, my briefcase, at my computer, etc.

Consider yourself lucky. I’ve worn glasses since the 2nd grade. That’s when I discovered that you’re supposed to see individual leaves on trees.

I’m at 20/700 in my right eye, 20/850 in the left, and astigmatism.

Plus, now I need readers. I’m at 2.5 with those.

So I’ve got several pairs of thick AF progressive glasses, or contacts and readers. Every time I get glasses it’s $800 out of pocket with VSP.

I got the custom wave surgery done on my eyes in 06. Was $3500 then. I'm still 20/15. I do wear reading glasses due to hardening of the lenses. That is a getting older thing. Unrelated.

I’ve thought about surgery over the years but never pulled the trigger. Now at this point, I’m going to wait for cataract surgery, which runs in the family.
