I only see one burnt needle. When you start getting a lot of intact needles, I feel like that’s a bad sign. From my experience here that means high wind and it’s getting close.

 

The unmedicated part of my brain says 9.5 but we’re not listening to him, and we’re rounding up.

 

The fire was 50acres last night and has grown to 675 as of two hours ago. Winds are right to us, so time to clean up camp and find something else to do today. And be ready for early evac notices. There are many routes out of here but most are slow, two lane roads

 

This is the biggest issue with living in the west. One must be ready to evacuate at almost anytime. Fire season is a year round hazard anymore.
