I don't care what they shave or wear, I just wish they would get out of the damn way when I am behind them on the road.

Reason #9947886959494 why I hate Kaliforniastan:

Our already congested city streets are getting driving lanes taken away and made into dedicated bike lanes that all of 2.5 people will use. Meanwhile, traffic is even more congested...

Your sits bones (sorry, I don't know the correct medical term for them) But the two bones at the bottom of your butt. That's what all the weight and pressure sits on the widest part of the back of the seat.

I have to share something with y'all that just happened. We were returning some foster kittens to be reunited with their lost mother(which was found a couple days later). Anyway, kittens get loaded up in box and we begin a simple three mile journey... Or so we thought!

1st - We were sitting a traffic light leaving our hood waiting to turn left, our light turned green, and the dumbshit in the oncoming lane decide that was the perfect time to do a right on red. She saw me pulling out and yet still proceeded then had the nerve to cut us off because she wanted in our lane.

2nd - We got about two miles down the road approaching another intersection. My direction had the green light going straight and three shitheads in the oncoming turn lane decided that it was ok to cut us off. The first and second were fairly easy to evaded but the third caused me to slam on the brakes. Needless to say the kittens got tossed around a good bit.

3rd - On the way home I witnessed some other loser turning right on red when oncoming traffic had the green.

WTF is up with people today. :censored::frusty::goingcrazy:

    Rant over

Whatever this forum told me to do
so, If I'm doing it right

the weight is on the sits bones

your are leaning forward with weight on arms

and your taint is taking a bit of weight on the seat - unless you have one of those fancy "hole in the seat" saddles".

after an hour or so of riding...my junk was numb.

those elbow bars are the worst...you are leaning one your junk meat (taint).

    not for me.

and I still have my Cannondale SR600 in the garage attic....30 days it all it took for me to throw it up there.

and no, I never wore those faggy pants or shoes.

yeah, I just wish road bikers would stay centered in the bike lane. This side-by-side social riding has gotten out of control. I’ll share the road, but it goes both ways. I guess that just fits with my moderate comminess.

Mountain biking, I’m thinking about looking into some light leg/hip armor, probably also arms. Something not too crazy/enduro looking.

You kind of have the right idea. Weight is on the sit bones arms/hands are on the bars with minimal weight, you're mostly using your core to hold yourself up.
Padded shorts are a must if riding any distance at pace. And there are lots of options to have the padded shorts and not have skin tight tour de france type clothes.
I'm no road biker though so I don't know what those guys are thinking regarding clothing.

Yeah I don’t go to the downhill parks like at ski resorts. Cross country riding is more my style, but that still has technical ups/downs. Crashing is still a real possibility though, even going slow, and the terrain is sharp/rocky. Plus the stinging nettle incident was a wake up call.

Ah, I was just going to suggest a full face helmet if you are getting good speeds. It may not have a motor, but when you hit the ground at 20+ MPH it is going to look more like a motorcycle crash than a bicycle crash.

It was happening in SLC with those little rental scooters. ERs were seeing people with gnarly injuries because they would ride them at 20-30 MPH and the ER staff said the injuries were on par with a motorcycle accident.

Arbico was on one of the routes I delivered when I first started at the Post Office. I used to hate it cause some of the crap they had stunk like shit. It was in the middle of the route, but I would skip it and stop on my way back to the P.O. so I didn't have to carry that nasty shit around all day.

uhhhh... thank you for your service :notsure:

    https://www.arbico-organics.com/category/Organic-Fertilizer

Some Arbico Organics products, like composting materials or manure-based fertilizers, may have a strong or unpleasant odor due to the natural decomposition processes involved in their creation or function

Here's a breakdown of common reasons for bad odors in organic materials and potential ways to address them
    • Anaerobic Decomposition: If the materials lack sufficient oxygen, they can decompose anaerobically (without oxygen), producing gases like hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg smell) and putrescine (rotting meat smell).
    • Imbalanced Carbon-to-Nitrogen (C:N) Ratio: A compost pile needs a proper balance of carbon-rich "brown" materials (like dried leaves and wood chips) and nitrogen-rich "green" materials (like food scraps and grass clippings). Too much nitrogen can lead to rapid decomposition and a strong ammonia smell, according to Mill Food Recycler. A low C:N ratio, especially below 10:1, is likely to cause odors. The ideal ratio is often cited as 30:1.
    • Excessive Moisture: Too much moisture can compact the pile and reduce airflow, promoting anaerobic conditions and contributing to odors.
    • Presence of Certain Compounds: The decomposition of proteins and other organic substances can generate volatile and odorous nitrogen-based compounds like ammonia, amines, and indoles. Sulfur compounds like hydrogen sulfide, mercaptans, and organic sulfides are also known for their strong and unpleasant smells.

That’s one thing I’ll have to think about with my backyard, my dog LOVES organic fertilizer. I’ve steady learned that private botanical gardens + dogs can be a bit tricky to say the least.

We're headed out on a camping trip today (with the trailer) so I hope traffic is better here.

This is assuming I can get out of my neighbourhood where they've been tearing up the roads, of course.
