I think pensions are protected from that. Mine went through four different companies as the shipyard ownership changed, including Hefty, like the trash bags, at one point. When I retired it was with a company called Pactiv-Evergreen, but it was managed by Fidelity.
Then right before I turned 65 I got notice from a different company that I had a second pension from when the shipyard was stand alone. I didn't know about that one but they found me.

Gotta be careful with those pensions. I don't know the exact legal mumbo jumbo but some of the folks that retired(several years before I left) had their pension sold off to some insurance firm and because of that was no longer protected by the PBGC. One of the reasons I elected for lump sum.

    found this - https://pensionrights.org/resource/...nsion-is-transferred-to-an-insurance-company/

Interesting, there are some pretty big companies that have done that.

Yes, for now. But things will change next year when I turn 65 and get forced into Medicare. This is further complicated by my wife being younger than me so we'll have to be on different plans.

Retirement healthcare is a royal PITA.

I wish the rule on the forums about not shitting on someone's for sale thread was on a case-by-case basis because the majority of the time even though it's technically against the rules people are spitting straight facts lol.

There was initially just a wee bit of hope that what remained of the tree could be saved, but nope.
Too much "crotch" rot where it split and there was more evident on the remaining portion.
Apparently very common for a 25 to 30 year old maple.
The two ash trees on either side of it that were previously cut down earlier this season must have been giving it some wind break. With them gone, it had no protection from the wind and one big gust was all it took.
I ended up calling in the professionals to take the whole thing down.
Shade is over rated anyway, right?

In the stump pic you can see the electrical (transformer?) box that it was resting on.
If it had taken that out I suppose we would have had a light show....then a dark show for me and several of my neighbors.

    INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster.
French built sort of a Land Rover Defender. So you know it's going to be reliable.

Looks like a Jeep Gladiator and a Land Rover had a love child.
    They should have used protection.

It looks pretty wide, compared to a Jeep. Probably same width as a newer Tacoma though.

The most recent example isn't that exciting, it's just someone pointing out the fact that the tail lights they are selling are able to be found brand new for cheaper under a different name.

That’s interesting that they have the transformer so close to the hydrant too. Usually they try to space those out a bit more.

I wonder how the tree was planted there. It does look like it might be right on top of the power line. I understand your reservation in not grinding that down.
