Why don't you just buy a taser and have someone contact tase you when you need a 'spark' :boink:

Of course, unless you want the full 'dart' experience :D

You will need to add at least one battery to your cart, but I'd recommend 3 or 4 at this price... cuz you're gonna play with it more than you think :D

    https://armsunlimited.com/taser-x26p-battery-surplus-like-new/

And you'll want some cartridges too... Do not waste your money on 'training' cartridges; you'll want the black ones w/the green doors (25')

    You're welcome... :hattip:

It's a measley investment for hours of dopamine based entertainment

PS>>> The science is important... :D

Being tased can trigger dopamine release in the brain

The body's response to being tased is a stressful and painful experience. While dopamine is commonly associated with pleasure and reward, recent research suggests it plays a more complex role in the brain and is also involved in the body's response to pain and stress.

Specifically, dopamine release may act as a signal of salience during the stressful event of being tased, mediating motivated behavior like pain avoidance or coping strategies. This release is linked to the motivational component of the pain experienced, not necessarily just pleasure.

Thank you for taking the time to type that out.

A lot of good info and things to consider.
I'm applying this morning, and they should tell me in 2 weeks if I'm accepted.

This buyout has no effect on my pension or retiree healthcare.
The only thing is I'll have to pay $200 a month each for the wife and I for health insurance as opposed to paying nothing for 39 years.
But it was like that before the buyout.

I compared the healthcare profiles between working and retired, and they aren't that different.
Pay a little more for prescriptions, surgeries and hospitalization are 80% instead of 100%, but that is only until the $1K out of pocket is met, then everything is covered 100%.
$1K out of pocket is 1 trip to the ER, I've met that the last few years in a row.:eek2:

The pension is backed by the company and the union, but the company manages and pays for most of it.
Hopefully, UPS won't go out of business, but you never know the way things are going.

Tax implications shouldn't be a problem.
I technically only worked 8 paid days this year, my first surgery was January 15th.
I've had a few vacation checks, and they will still owe me for 2 vacation weeks and 8 sick days, as well as any vacation time I earned for next year.

Since I did't work 165 days, I won't get my full 6 weeks vacation for next year.
I technically 'worked' 3 1/2 months, the half of January and the 3 months of FLMA.
FLMA is just like if I punched in at work.
I guess they'll prorate if and give me something.

My last vacation check stub stated I've only made $14K this year, the back pay for the time off I haven't taken will amount to another $6k.

The trickiest part is that it takes 60 to 90 days to process pension paperwork.
So when they tell me I'm accepted, I'll apply for the pension, and I may go without insurance and any income for 60 - 90 days.
BUT, I will be paid and any insurance claims will be paid retroactively to the date I applied, or the day after my last paid work day.
Technically, I'm on disability, so my last workday will be the day they terminate me, which is tentatively August 31, 2025.
The income I'm not worried about, but going without insurance, even though it will end up being covered, is a little scary.

Our biggest challenge, if I'm accepted, is when do I start taking SS?
I've read a lot on it and it seems to be a gamble either way.
    If I wait 2 more years when I turn 65, I'll get $500 more a month, that's $6K year, over 10 years that's a lot of $$.
That could be money to buy my Gen 11 Tundra if Toyota gets their shit together.
Although I plan to keep my 2014 until it dies.

I think we can make it on just her working and my pension.
We'll see how it goes, I have no debt other than the mortgage.

    Thanks again @Tripleconpanna

Sorry to everyone tired of reading my retirement stuff.
It's just that I trust you guys and value your input.
You guys are better friends to me than any actual friends I may or may not have.
I'll slack off on it now, but I will let you know if I get accepted.
    .

I bought two of these. Gotta try new things. Trying the first one. Hands are not shaking, yet, but may need to wait to trim my nails.

Sounds like you've done your homework...

Many don't, and it can sometimes bite folks in the butt a bit...

I've got no advice on SS as I am not eligible to receive benefits (not enough quarters or whatever the hell you call them), as no SS contributions were made on my behalf during me career #govjobshit

The insurance circus is worrisome even under the best circumstances (while you're actively covered) and have a union, etc. to back you... But, yes I can certainly see your point about being concerned during the brief 'lapse'. It'll work out, as everyone that has a hand in your 'pot' during this transitional stage MUST operate in 'good faith'; which basically means... yeah, there will be some stress, but one way or another they will eventually end up having to do right by you

Congrats, and I hope you hear back quickly and the transition is pretty seamless for you...

PS>>> With all the banter and such throughout this thread, you should never feel compelled to apologize for talking about 'real' topics. We all post a ton of BS talk about silly things, but that's for a laugh. IMO there's certainly time and a place within this thread to accommodate talking about these kind of things. Everyone benefits from it in some way, even if they are not there yet or have already been through it... So no apologies necessary!!!!!

I had a pretty sweet porn stash in high school. But we're talking about facial hair right?

I usually don't try and make a big deal about my birthday. Always make sure my kids are taken care of and the wife and my parents.
Lately though, I have felt that it might be nice if someone did a little something for me though.
My wife and I were born 5 days apart and her birthday comes first, so all of our birthday celebrations are combined and always catered more towards her tastes. It's not really a big deal, but if I'm being honest having my own special day once would be kind of cool.

That’s a tough call on the SS. My FIL just retired at 65, pilot that aged out of Southwest. He is taking it. It seems like waiting until 65 if you can is the best option. I’m not sure if I’d wait any longer than that.

I must've missed this one yesterday...

I can't say that I've ever had a Mary Jane hangover. I partake and all, but maybe I'm just not steamrolling enough joints to know what one feels like. A few puffs and I'm GTG.

I have not seen taser videos online. But I wonder if there are videos of people sticking their tongues on the electric mosquito tennis racket things.
